I've created this new thread for those applying to the Methodist Nursing Program linked with El Centro. This program is for those that are employed, have immediate family members employed, and volunteers that have reached a certain amount of hours at a Methodist hospital. They currently are only accepting 10 people per semester.
Hi guys,I have been reading most of your comments. I attend el Centro and will start volunteering at Methodist Dallas in July. I understand I have to complete 100 hours but I have more questions about the program since I haven't been able to get in contact with Kimberly Griffith. What is the difference between the Methodist program and the traditional at el centro? Im stuck deciding which one I want to apply to...Thanks
Hi :) I would start by emailing Ms. Griffith to request an updated Information Session Schedule, and attend one of them as soon as you can. The information seems to be changing lately, however they will provide you with the most updated info and application available during the session.

As far as I can tell, the major differences between the two programs would be:
1) Instead of attending lecture classes at El Centro, you view them via teleconference at Methodist Dallas. However, I believe all testing is completed at El Centro.
2) Methodist pays for your tuition and you agree to work for them for 3 years after graduation in return. You are responsible for paying back the tuition if ever you skip out before the 3 years has been completed.
3) The Methodist Health System is amazing! They truly want their students to succeed and ultimately become a part of their team!
