hi Northlakegrad,

I'd like to apply to NL or EL for Fall 2009 but I'm nervous about the HESI test. After calculating my GPA (3.5), I believe I should try to apply to those two colleges but I'm not sure if I'll make HESI entrance exam. Pls advise me on what step to take in order to pass the HESI so that I can also be part of the nursing student for next fall..

You have to take the HESI test in order to apply to the program!:) Your application must be turned into El Centro's Health Occupations Office by Feb. 28th. You also will have to get an application packet from the office or download it from http://www.elcentrocollege.edu/Program/Health/_docs/packet/ADN%2009.pdf. In that packet there is a HESI exam form you have to take it to cashier office pay $25 and get an appointment at the testing center.

There is also a study guide available for you to study the ISBN # is 978-1-4160-5635-5. I recommend that you complete all the exercises and the practice exams before you take the test. Good luck. Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

Congratulations to all of you who got in!

I'll be applying for the Spring '10 since I won't be finished with my re-taking my

sciences until May '09 but that's ok; I can wait.

I hope you guys will share tips, advice, etc since you'll be there before me:)

Thanks modelmama for that piece of information; it was really helpful. I wanted to know if I'll be denied acceptance letter if I don't have HPRS 1200 in my pre-req lists by the time I apply in Febuary?

First and foremost, your welcome! Do you mean HPRS 1204? If so, you will need that in order to even apply to the program. I'm having to retake mine since the last time I took it was back in Fall 07, it only has a year time limit, which is why I'm having to retake it. I registered myself for a fast paced class that only lasts about 2 1/2 weeks, it starts January 20th and ends February 5th. I believe the class is full though now. I know there was another section that ended Feb 26th I believe or close to that date, I'm not sure if that one is full. But if you don't have it completed by Feb 28th you can't apply for the regular application period. However if they have openings for the fall semester (like they had openings this spring) you are welcome to apply for the late application period. Good luck, and again let me know if you have any more questions! :wink2:
