So we have about 4 different programs in our greater area in which one can pursue nursing education and RN licensure. But What to make of this? Really? For a good laugh or slap to the head, view one our illustrious programs gush about "front office and back office procedures." It'll spin your head I tell ya! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nMgvmPTf3k

Anyone have any other Doozies? Watch the first minute here and see if you get my drift.

Lol! Do I want to "crash their crib?" I think not! And what's with the MA's practicing on hospital patients? Since when do hospitals hire MA's?

i feel sorry for the folks who don't know any better and fall for that crap. Not to mention pay exorbitant tuition prices.

Is it a program where you do pre reqs somewhere else and enroll there just for the nursing program? I watched it with no head spinning side effects, what's your issue with it?

It's NOT a nursing program. It's MA training. Watch it again with that in mind.

They had a sequence that discussed registered nursing so I think I'm missing the joke?

They have an MA and RN program.

Well, according to the video there is both MA and RN programming through this school. I do find it funny that a selling point of this "college" is that the library doesn't just have flash cards and books...."we have board games, too! How fun is THAT?!" lol....

So, no MENSA candidates are likely students, so be it. What's the pass rate for NCLEX?

A lot of time was spent watching nursing students taking each other vitals....which happens to be what the MA students were doing, too....except the MA students were also taking vitals on infant dolls in incubators. That's not gonna be happening in RL, but hey, the college is selling a DREAM, not reality...like most schools today.

I guess I'm just sensitive, lol! I really object to the beginning sequence that shows the "host" in bed, under covers, with a mannequin (the patient!!!), saying you learn "front office and back office" procedures. I just cannot believe the marketing department did that...or maybe they intended it? :woot:

And there clearly is a very blurry line between the MA in the beginning and the RN toward the end of the commercial.

Its all over the daytime programming in our area and it seems to be every other commercial on my days off.

But then to the PPs....I also have issues with the exorbitant tuition and I find that of any of the four schools who come to the facility where I work, the students from this program are not in the top 50% in terms of safety when having clinical days. :sarcastic:

A cute lil dancing-girl looking gal hawking for-profit education.....Laying in bed with a mannequin? CREEEPY. Hard sell stuff here. I would not go near there. It looks like kindergarten.

Just the bedroom scene, Acute HD ;).

And to clarify, this facility does have MA and RN programs. They have their own prereqs (for which one must also pay!) that allow them to teach nursing and create candidates who can sit for the NCLEX per our state board of nursing.

And it only costs about $55K to do everything one must to have the education to sit for NCLEX.

Aaaaaaand then there is this, actually on the advertisement and on the local website for them:

Reno Campus

- 14,680 square feet

- 1 faculty member rescues turtles

- 2 MA faculty members are graduates of Carrington

- 600+ years of combined experience for RN faculty members

- 59 windows on the campus do not view the outdoors

WHAT are they trying to say? I guess I don't speak the language . If anyone would like to take a guess, look at 0:08 on the video. I'm up for interpretations!
