wouldn't it be easier

Wouldn't it be eaiser for nurses if there were not different degrees in the nursing feild. With all this LPN not able to find hospital jobs, and employers wanting BSNs, and RN thinking that working in nursing homes is beneith them. Anyways everyone basically seems to get their BSNs to be competitive anyways. LPNs are told to get their RN and RN getting their BSNs I feel wouldn't it make sence to just have all nurses get the same education and be on the same playing feild. If everyone just had to get the education of a BSN to be a nurse it would make things so much easier.

I have never heard of six figure debt just from one BSN degree.

The 6 month MSN programs, I would bet donuts to dollars, is for nursing education. They are having a tough time keeping instructors. I can be a clinical instructor with a BSN and 2 years of clinical experience. They prefer an MSN, but I know that where I got my ADN, the classroom instructors had to have MSN, not a BSN with a Masters in Teaching or education.

There are over 700,000 allnurses members. Just think about the amazing things we could do if we all stood together. Yep, always an optimist.

I think of this too. Especially when it comes to unsafe patient ratios. Imagine the power we'd have all 1 million of us nurses DEMANDED a change. But instead of taking money from the higher ups who get obnoxiously paid, and hire more nurses for safer ratios, they would cut salaries and increase medical costs, just so they can still keep their wallets fat.

Sigh.... Im way too much of a newbie to be as jaded as I am.
