I try to explain this to the kids all the time! I want to print this out and give it to each kid that tells me they had a doughnut and chocolate milk for breakfast!
Does the frustration get better? In addition to the stomach aches, I get the nausea too, and dear lord that's the possibility of vomit! That must mean they're really sick. Or, no, they didn't eat breakfast. Hunger can mimic nausea, but apparently I'm the only one who knows that. Even after the 7th time I've told the same kid.
Might it also be the HUGE big Gulps, Iced Coffees etc they get on the WAY to school?
Surely, you jest!

I had a student c/o nausea, palpitations, dizziness, and anxiety. Doing my usual questions and VS and I ask if she had anything to eat or anything new. Turns out for the first time ever she had coffee. 12oz, black, on an empty stomach. I don't even like how coffee makes me feel. She's apparently sworn off coffee forever now!

Oh, you mean the comprehensive orientation I had to school nursing when I first started? Oh, yeah. The 2 days another nurse spent with me showing me how to take a kid's temp?
