I think stutterring should be no problem the nursing field is such a vast field- administrative, careprovider, management and so much more that we typically don't hear about. At one if my school, there was a girl who can't talk at all.
Dump? You mean dumb? If so, that's so subjective. Nobody is dumb except the people who calls someone himself is one.
I think that the OP meant dumb...as in can't speak.
Oh I see. If that's so, no problem either. American Sign Language is here. Such nurses can work with patients who can't talk or hear if they desire to. My knowledge is very limited but I know that nursing field is a very vast career field, it is not just limited to working in ER or something.
I think most nurses are like rocket scientists. They can make something out of nothing and find a solution where there seems to be none. We don't plan we improvise. Kind of like Marines in scrubs. I know that the average IQ of a nurse is lower than the average IQ of a rocket scientist. I am just in love with my professional siblings right now. Babbling over
BACK ON TOPIC: Stuttering yes. Dumb as in mute I vote NO. How would you function in a clinical setting during rotations? Just a thought.
I don't think stuttering would be a problem. As far as being dumb, anyone who has an RN after their name and made it through the nursing program is not dumb. Being smart has little to do with nursing anyways, it's' the patient care. You can be a straight A student but it won't mean anything if you do not have a servants heart. I know people who made it out of the nursing programs with honors and found out that they were simply not cut out for the field because they did not have the level of compassion that you need.

Hi,
I would like to know whether a person who is dumb or stuttering can function as a nurse.
i also would like to ask whether the nurse job involves a lot of talking.
