Hello fellow nurses!
I was wondering if anyone applied for Duke University's online FNP program, Fall 2014. For those that are currently attending, how long did it take to hear back from admissions?
Also, would you mind sharing info on the program? For example, numbers of hours put in weekly for part-time attendance. I realize this may vary on the particular student, but an idea will be helpful.
Thank you kindly!
Jayne
p.s. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Hi curliegirlie3,
Nice to meet ya! As far as $ for Duke's program. Well, government will allow you to borrow via Stafford loans $20,00 a year for a graduate student. Duke comes to around 50,000 for the program. Other options is via repayment programs that will cover up to 60% of tuition for 2 yrs of service. There a few other here:Loans & Scholarships
By the way, CUA (The Catholic University of America, Washington DC) has a great nursing program, and does not require an entrance exam. They have an online option with a total cost of around 34,000. Pass rate on the NP board has been 100% for the past two years. They are my second choice. Not to mention, St Louis University. Same thing, no entrance exam. Total cost around 39,000.
Regardless of were you decide to go, you will be able to take care the loans, or opt for loan forgiveness. Its a darn good investment:)
Cheers!
Jayne
Aw Jayne, I'm sorry. Keep checking your email. Did they send you a response at all? They are giving those invited to interview until Tuesday, Jan. 14 by 5 pm EST to RSVP or the invitation is forfeited. So they might open up the wait list through then. I'm still rooting for you So Cal neighbor. Best of luck.

Thank you for the update Silva. Well, with a week's notice it's what I expected from the beginning any way. Despite this, I still plan, and have always planned, to fly in and visit. I really want to see the campus and what it has to offer for distance-learning students. Hope to hear some good news for an interview with you all soon and maybe we can meet up for dinner afterwards if any of us are sharing dates.
