Duke University's online FNP program, Fall 2014

Published

Hello fellow nurses!

I was wondering if anyone applied for Duke University's online FNP program, Fall 2014. For those that are currently attending, how long did it take to hear back from admissions?

Also, would you mind sharing info on the program? For example, numbers of hours put in weekly for part-time attendance. I realize this may vary on the particular student, but an idea will be helpful.

Thank you kindly!

Jayne

p.s. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I interviewed Tuesday morning by video chat-it went as smoothly as I could have expected it to go. My interviewer was the sweetest and we had a lot of common interests! I am really anxious for the decisions!

Also, does anyone know of there is an on-campus orientation upon acceptance into the program? I'd love to meet the professors before hand!

I believe there is an on-campus orientation in late August for Fall admits. I think in the past it's been over 2-4 days. I'm sure they will let us know ahead of time (more than the interview notice) once acceptances are dealt. Wonderful to hear about y'all's great interview experiences. As usual, best of luck to us all.

My interview went well. It went over the allotted time and still seemed short. Now all we do is wait. Keep your fingers crossed.

Did y'all just get the email about final review already taking place? So, so nervous!! Guess decisions will be through the website and not email!

Yes, got that email. Guess we'll be checking the self-service site periodically then. Must. Breathe. Best of luck everyone. Thanks for the update Silva.

Does anyone know anything about the new FNP curriculum structure?

I was told it would be released by the Summer... Only changes I know of so far are increased campus visits

We won't know the curriculum before we're required to put down a deposit?

Will we know about FA or scholarships before the deposits are due at least?

Probably not by then, but the option to apply for fin aid is up on the site. The Stafford loan is 20k a year I believe. My hope is to qualify for a repayment after graduation... It's seems really short notice for a scholarship by the time deposits are due.

Well I wanted to find out about the need-based and merit-based scholarships before I put down a deposit...

What questions do you have about the curriculum? My interviewer went over it with me. It isn't finalized but she seemed to be sure about what it was going to be. Did you ask about it during your interview? She also gave me her email and told me to email if I had any more questions.
