Just want to make a forum for the Duke Nurse Residency Program. Applications are open now, and will close Feb 28th 2016.

I sent in my app, and it has changed to "forwarded to hiring manager". Has anyone else had that change?

I will be there on the 26th too! Are you bringing a clipboard and stethoscope? I'm going to be at unit 4300 so won't get a chance to meet you, but I am crossing my fingers for us both!

I will definitely bring a clipboard that I will have paperwork, extra resume, and have a place that I can write notes at. I won't bring a stethescope though! What time is your interview? I'm going to HR at 1215ish

Hi, The open house was very exciting. I had the opportunity to meet all the managers of the units that I was interested in. I talked to a few managers and they asked me questions about my clinical experience and why Duke? They all said they will be contacting me to schedule official interviews with me in a few days. So I'm patiently waiting. I'm interested in the Pediatric ICU, Pediatric CICU, and Intensive Care Nursery. There was a tornado warning while we were there, so that gave me extra time to sit and chat with few of the managers.

That's awesome! I interview today with PCICU! I wish I could have gone to the open house but, I came from out of town :-( What did you like with talking to PCICU in particular?

I thought it went great but then I always feel that way...so I'm a bad person to ask! I loved the unit and the team! I absolutely would love to work there but she has 2 other interviews to hold so...they will let me know in a week-ugh!

Sounds like it went well! I hope you get it! My experience went good also. The manager was really nice and the nurses were super helpful and answered all my questions. I get the feeling I should be getting the job by the way everything went. I'll let you guys know! Just glad that little stressful part is over with!

I got an offer from Duke and I couldn't accept fast enough! Goodbye Massachusetts and hello North Carolina!
