2017 Duke New Grad Program

Published

Hey! I just thought I'd make a place where people can ask questions regarding applications, interviews, and new jobs regarding Duke's Summer 2017 New grad Program. I sent my application in for Duke's New Grad Program in January, and still haven't heard anything. Has anyone heard anything different?

Good luck!

congratulations to all who have been hired! Finally got an interview at Duke, on the 30-bed rehab floor at Duke Regional. Has anyone interviewed or been hired for that unit? Also any general interview tips would be much appreciated. thank you :)

Congrats everyone :) Hope to see some of you at orientation.

Does anyone know when we will be getting our first work week schedule? (the week after orientation)

I think that I heard we get it the week of orientation.

Coming in a little late y'all, but congrats to everyone and for those who accepted a position and starting July 10th, see y'all then! I will be starting with the Cardiothoracic OR!

Specializes in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery.

Hello everyone! So I am actually a current PNA in the GYN OR at big Duke, but I will be graduating in December. I was wondering if you all could tell me about the program a little bit in regards to which specialty areas are offered with the residency/new grad RN program? Definitely wanting to apply when the next application comes out, but can't find much information online! I'm mainly interested in L&D/mother-baby/nursery, etc. but not sure if that is an option for the new grads and the residency program...thanks for any input! :)

Anyone working on the surg floors 2100/2200/2300 at the University hospital? interviewed today, super friendly staff and interesting patient population

I was hired onto 3200 (: But the manager informed me that I could possibly "float" to 2200 if need be... Yes, I found the staff pretty friendly as well. I think it's going to be a good floor to start on!

Anyone know what the dress code is for orientation? I can't find anything about it on orientation info sheet I got.

In my offer letter, it said just to dress casually; scrubs are not necessary.

Apparently you can wear scrubs or casual dress. Some people are being told scrubs, others business casual. I just talked to a girl who just went through it and she said it was a mixture of both at her's so I guess it's a "whatever" kind of dress code!

Hi everyone (I know I'm late to the party) but I was just offered a position at Duke starting in October. Just wondering how you guys found roommates, what neighborhoods are good to live in (I'm from New England) and if anyone needs a roommate? Any help is appreciated

I was also hired on 3200! Looking forward to meeting you and starting on this floor!!
