2017 Duke New Grad Program

Published

Hey! I just thought I'd make a place where people can ask questions regarding applications, interviews, and new jobs regarding Duke's Summer 2017 New grad Program. I sent my application in for Duke's New Grad Program in January, and still haven't heard anything. Has anyone heard anything different?

Good luck!

Hi guys I have a question for the people who have to transfer their RN license to NC. How long did it take to get your license number online after you sent in your CBC and fingerprints? Just curious!

Does anyone know if we, as new grads, go M-F the first week or two after orientation?

Specializes in PACU.

Depends on the unit. I went straight to 3 12s after the first week of general orientation, but I know some other units did like 8-5 M-F.

Okay, gotcha.. which unit are you on again? How have you liked it so far? (:

I work in the PACU. I'm enjoying it a lot!

Yeah I'm also from New England and just made the move last week! Definitely a little hotter down here, but will not be missing the snow! Glad to see there seems to be many northerners coming down!!

Haha same, I don't think I can message on here yet since I just joined, but I'm excited to hear that someone else is going down far too!

That's awesome! I'm moving down on Monday so I'm definitely excited! Yeah the heat there is a little worse than Mass but I'll take it over the winters haha

Good Luck with your move!!

Has anyone applied or is a member of the New to the OR program?

Do you know if PICU is hiring new grads that finish in December?? I submitted my application about a month ago but haven't heard from anyone!

Hello geliz, Congrats on getting the offer back in Summer. I hope you are enjoying and learning a lot. I applied to the residency program for CTICU and they emailed me back couple of days ago for an interview in 7 days. I am very nervous, can you give me some suggestions on how best to prepare for the interview for the CTICU?

I've applied in March 2017. Had my 1st interview in April. Was called back for a 2nd one in late April. That same day I was offered a job. Begin working in Aug. The pay is $23/hr not to include diff. The work atmosphere is the best as all colleagues and management are very supportive. I could not have asked for a better start right out of college. I would highly recommend to anyone to apply for and work for Duke. On a 1-10 scale, working for Duke is a 10 !!!
