Duke New Grad Nurse Residency 2020/2021

Hi! I didn't see a thread so I wanted to create one for new grads. I just applied to a position at Duke University Hospital and am looking to connect with other new grads!

Hi!! Which unit did you apply for? Are you from NC?

I applied for the CTICU and the Neuro ICU! I'm originally from NC but I'm currently in school in FL. How about you??

That’s awesome! I’m from MA. I interviewed with the Pedi BMT unit but they said it will be a few weeks to hear back since they’re interviewing a lot of people. Fingers crossed though! I want to move down to NC so badly and I’ve heard amazing things about Duke.

Oh my goodness that is awesome! Duke is an incredible hospital from both a patient perspective as well as from a nursing perspective - I have heard that you will learn SO much about nursing!

Hey y'all,

I was actually about to start a thread for Duke so I'm happy you made one! I already have an offer for a unit at Duke but I'm waiting to hear back about a few other units I've applied for. I've never been to NC before so it'll be totally new for me!

That’s so exciting!! How long did it take to hear back? I know each unit is different but waiting is killing me ?

I actually heard back about an interview pretty quickly, there are still some other positions I applied for with Duke that are still accepting applications so I guess it just depends. I'm definitely excited to be potentially working at Duke and getting to meet the other new grads!
