I just wanted to start a thread for those who have applied to/been accepted into Duke's New Graduate RN program starting Summer of 2021. I've seen a forum for this residency before, but I believe it pertained to those who started this past December. I'd love to get to know a few other recent graduates who will be starting their career at Duke! I figure this will be a good way to get to know others relocating to the Durham/Raleigh area. I've seen these threads before, and they seem to be pretty helpful for people. I'll be starting in late August and am really excited about the prospect of working for Duke, and to meet some other people in the same boat!

Hi! I also am applying to Duke, and just got my first job offer! I think I am going to take it. Before seeing this thread I actually started another thread as well LOL. Hopefully between the two of these we can find some other people!
Congratulations! What sort of unit will you be working on? Im sure you agree that its a relief to not have to do any more zoom interviews now ?
Neuro Stepdown! And absolutely, all the zoom is exhausting! What about you? I will also be relocating so its nice to know that someone is in the same boat as me ?
Neuro ICU, small world! Have you found any good apartments/living situations? I think Im set on "Bell West End", they seem to have pretty good prices and really great reviews.
I haven't found anything specific yet, but would love to be in a hip/young area with lots to do. I have read some really good stuff about Bell West End too! I definitely want to try and find a roommate of some sort since I don't know many people in the area.
There are two groups on facebook, one called "Housing for Durham/Raleigh/CH" and another called "Housing for Lovely People Durham" (I may be paraphrasing LOL), but those are close. Tons of people in both groups looking for roommates!
Awesome thanks! I'll definitely check those out. Are you relocating from far away?
Just from Charlotte, so not very far at all. How about you?

I'm going to be relocating from NY - starting August 2 in the CTICU. I would love to connect as well!
I also found a facebook page called "Duke University Hospital New Graduate Nurses" that I joined where people discuss housing and other questions they might have.
