Duke New Graduate Residency 2021/2022

I just wanted to start a thread for those who have applied to/been accepted into Duke's New Graduate RN program starting Summer of 2021. I've seen a forum for this residency before, but I believe it pertained to those who started this past December. I'd love to get to know a few other recent graduates who will be starting their career at Duke! I figure this will be a good way to get to know others relocating to the Durham/Raleigh area. I've seen these threads before, and they seem to be pretty helpful for people. I'll be starting in late August and am really excited about the prospect of working for Duke, and to meet some other people in the same boat!

I also found a facebook page called "Duke University Hospital New Graduate Nurses" that I joined where people discuss housing and other questions they might have.

Yes, found and joined the group as well! Maybe we could connect on facebook since I know this is a little more public hahah

Applied to CICU and CTICU a couple weeks ago. Still under review but hopefully I hear back for interviews

Hello! I just received a position in the SICU! I currently live in Kentucky for an ABSN program. I just started looking at housing and wasn't sure if people at Duke live in Durham or Raleigh. Does anyone know the preference for someone in their 20's?

Congrats!! I'm relocating from NY and have been looking in both places. It seems like people in their 20s like both from what I've seen/read and there are some good options within 30 minutes of the University Hospital. If you have facebook, there's a few facebook pages earlier in this thread that have been helpful while looking!

Raleigh definitely has a lot more going on. I attended undergrad at NCSU and absolutely love Raleigh. With that being said, I decided to live in Durham to avoid a 30 minute commute every day. If the commute wasnt a factor, I'd choose Raleigh every time.
