Starting a thread for all those who have applied to the Fall 2020 Term at Duke. I have applied to the Pediatric Primary NP program.
Has anyone heard of interview experiences? I scheduled my interview and somewhere I read that the interviewer may or may not be familiar with the specific program we are applying for. I'm a little bummed about that because I was hoping to get interviewed by faculty from the PMHNP program.
I found this link:
https://www.nursepractitionerschools.com/blog/np-school-interview-guide/
Maybe this could guide us some.
Did anyone who applied for the FNP program NOT receive an interview schedule email/link? I received an email from Nora in mid-January who stated I should be receiving an email/link to setup my interview in late January or early February. I know it's only February 3rd, but was still curious if I was the only one who hadn't received the link. Thanks y'all, and good luck!

I don’t think they’re looking for anything other than any other program. And I honestly don’t know what their criteria are. ??♀️ I think if you look up interviewing techniques for school admission, that’ll be helpful.

Our interviewers were not necessarily people from our program, but all of the NP programs share a core faculty who do the core classes like research, professional development, pathophys, pharm, and assessment, so they’ll have a clue. However, my friend who is in the PMHNP program said she WAS interviewed by her program faculty.
@kittymulv Does this mean I will not be receiving an invite even though Nora said I would be? I don't like the anxiety of waiting ?

I did not receive an invite to interview. I did receive the same email though. Everyone I’ve heard from (on here and in real life) received those emails last month. I think it might have been a generic that went out to all applicants and that’s why they worded it carefully to say “under consideration for a potential interview.” ?
