Hi everyone, I couldn't find a thread for Drexel FNP fall 2014 so I figured I would start one so we can all meet/chat ahead of time. I'm currently living in the DC area and I'm excited to be visiting Philly a few times a year. Anyone else out there find out yet?
Marikelly18 I'm in the same boat. I applied close to the deadline and am still waiting to hear back! I've been anxiously checking the discover drexel website but it still says that a decision is pending. Also have not received anything in the mail. With only a week or so left before the deadline.... The anticipation is killing me! Best of luck!
The enrollment fee is going to be an issue pretty much anywhere. What bridge course did they want you to take? I don't know anyone who had to take a bridge course.
It was a fundamental biology course at the school I was accepted into. Maybe if I had had time to save up for it, the enrollment fee that is. But the way things are going for me right now, perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that I a) couldn't afford to go to that other program and b) Drexel denied me.

Oh i thought you said Drexel was making you take a class. Gotcha. Try again for Drexel...you never know. Look at your application and see where you can make it stronger.
Was anyone accepted as a wait list student for the FNP program? If so, have you heard anything else yet?
Just FYI I know someone who is in the pediatric program. She works 3 12's and has no kids, does the advised curriculum plan for the 36 months and she said it's tough, plain and simple. A lot of papers and a lot of research.

I know that the FNP program has a lot of students. Drexel also increased faculty for the FNP because of the increased number of students. I also know that those who were in one track and wanted to move to FNP have been able to do it...but it was limited and it wasn't a sure thing you can move over and people have been told it was full. They do have a max number of students.
But....if anyone declines their admission (which I'm sure happens all the time) those are seats that will get filled by the wait list. I wouldn't give up hope.

And yes the curriculum plan is rough! You are going to need some flexibility with your work schedule when you hit your track specific pharm class. You will need a lot of flexibility once you hit clinicals. You are going to have class one night a week plus doing about 16 hours of clinicals....and clinicals happen on your preceptors schedule (you really can't make demands).
Oh and you will be on campus for 2-3 days once each quarter once you start clinicals. Each track goes at a different time...so that's 2-3 days you can't work.

Is anyone else still waiting to hear about the status of their application? I have been checking several times a day online and nothing has arrived via snail mail either. Is anyone aware of a date that responses were to be sent out??
