Dr Death

Has anyone listened to this new podcast? First 3 available, 3 more yet to be released:

Dr. Death – Wondery – Feel The Story

I never heard this on the news, probably would have if I lived in Texas.

Could never have happened if doctors were held to the same standards as nurses.

Listened to episode 1 on the way to work. I listen to podcasts on my commute.

Seems interesting.

Listened to another series by the same producers and liked it.

Meh... 2 deaths seem kind of unimpressive compared to nurse serial killers.

Very interesting podcast. It is scary overall to go through any type of surgery and completely trust strangers in white gowns.

Don't forget 30+ maimed...

Thats just a normal weekend for Harold Shipman.

I wonder how many deaths are caused by med errors alone with doctors...

Oh, I have listened to the first three and my mind was BLOWN - just how the medical community could just shift the problem on to someone else instead of doing the right thing and stripping this man of his license. Insanity. He didn't just harm people and only kill two - he nearly DECAPITATED his BEST FRIEND and left him to live a life paralyzed from the neck down. Dude. This guy is a monster!

Yes, that's what I thought... they KNEW he was unsafe at the very least, and just let him be someone else's problem.

The double standard is unbelievable. A nurse can be accused of something and lose her license/career without any evidence presented. This guy?? It makes my head spin trying to figure out how many people let him keep going.

Oh no... I found a podcast for him too, didn't listen yet.:(

He ruined many lives...I don't consider that "meh."

It's just despicable how he was allowed to continue to practice...even after numerous doctors complained about his horrible surgical techniques when they went in to correct them.

IIRC, this was a pretty good article about this person...

Dr. Death: The Shocking Story of Christopher Duntsch, a Madman with a Scalpel

  • Experts

In all this negative, Mr. Philip Mayfield, a victim of Duntsch's scalpel, shows the epitome of a higher conscious- unsolicited forgiveness:

"Today, if Philip could confront Duntsch, he would. 'I would tell him that I forgive him," he says. "Even though... he hasn't asked [me] for forgiveness, or said anything to any of the patients that were affected.' "
