Douglas College Fall 2017 Nursing applicants

Hi everyone, I wanted to start this thread for all the eager Nursing applicants just like myself! :) I have completed my 10 courses in Fall 2015, and have applied once for Winter 2017 but did not get accepted. Now, this will be my second time applying and I cannot wait to apply for the Fall 2017 intake! Anyone else interested in Douglas Nursing program Fall 2017 intake? :)

so realistically, as someone who finished summer 2016, I will most likely be accepted for fall 2018.. or is that still a long shot?

Hi! You might have a chance. :) usually it takes 2 intakes before getting in, and with decent grades.

My friend completed her pre-reqs in Fall 2015. Just wondering, what is a competitive GPA since they look at time your courses were completed and GPA?

Is it high or just a C+/minimum requirement? Thank you!

Anyone hear anything yet?! I emailed the nursing admissions department but still haven't heard anything.... this is crazy!

It is going to take a little while. My application status has only changed late Monday's evening to "Conditional Accept non hs appl". It hadn't changed during mid-day. They are most likely still going through applicants. Good luck and don't give up!

Thanks for the encouragement DCNursingStudent! My application status has changed to " Initial admission requirement complete" lol. I'm thinking if I've been put on a waitlist or something. Some applicants who had been accepted to fall 2017 have had their application status, " initial admission requirements complete" and had been carried out to fall 2017, then got accepted. Anyone here, has just changed their application status yet?

Hi Leslie_dhy! Thought I'd join the conversaytion because I also applied for Fall 2017 and finished my pre requisites Fall 2015. My application changed to "Initial admission requirement complete" as well.. hopefully thats a good thing.

For the people who got their application status changed to Initial admission requirement complete, may I ask what your GPA was for the pre-req courses? Thank you so much!

Hi everyone!! Omg I woke up today and my application status says "decision made" & my decision status says "initial adm.red.complete" .... guys does this mean we're gonna get accepted soon?!? :(

Um remember mine was the same as dcnursing.. I didn't get anything. :( mine has been initial req complete since winter 2017 application.

Hey guys. My application status says the same thing. From talking to staff at the college I found out all decisions for applicants have been made and they will be sending out the remaining acceptance letters within a week or so. Apparently they don't send them all out at one time. From what I have been told... the chances for Fall 2015 students were lower this intake because they still had sooo many people who finished in Summer 2015 who didn't get in for Winter 2017 and ended up re-applying. Because these students got admission first... it looks like the chances are very slim. I myself don't know what to do now :( I had high hopes for this intake... it really sucks that the wait is this long. I feel like if we were told this information from the beginning I would have applied to school outside of the lower mainland. It is VERY disappointing for sure. Good luck to those of you who got accepted! Must be super exciting to finally start!
