Douglas college January 2017
Hi! I will be starting the second term for the program soon... I was just wondering for those who have done your 2nd year first term how difficult did you find the course load? Were you still able to work part time while going to school full time?

Douglas College Fall 2017 Nursing applicants
Exactly, it is a wait list. I feel like if you are in the top 5 you might still have a chance to get in. Because September is so far you never know what will happen and some people may need to pull out, or may even change their mind.. or could get into another school of their choice like Langara for example and then later on decline their Douglas offer. It is annoying for sure to have to wait, and I would still apply for Jan 2018, but you never know you might still have a chance to get in! It is still really early in the application process. So lots can change!

Douglas College Fall 2017 Nursing applicants
Hey, I think this just means you will be offered a seat if someone else rejects their offer. Seems like most offers have been made, so now they have a short list going meaning you meet all requirements and will be offered a seat when it becomes available.

Hey Leslie_dhy, I actually called the registrars office and was transferred to the department where I was able to leave a voicemail and then I got a call back and they answered all my questions!

Douglas College Fall 2017 Nursing applicants
Hey Leslie_dhy! I did speak to admissions about this. I was told that they are sending applications out in increments so not all of them have been sent, but they have their list of who they are sending them out to. I believe my GPA is 3.1 or smtn like that..I don't have my exact GPA and I didn't ask when I called. They couldn't tell me whether or not I will be receiving a seat but they told me to be patient for a little while longer. Apparently we should know by late December/early Jan if we will have a seat or not. If not they will advise if we are on the wait list. I am hoping to get in for September... so fingers crossed for all of us still waiting!

Douglas College Fall 2017 Nursing applicants
They won't be sending out more acceptance letters until after the payment deadline passes for the ones that were sent out last week. I believe they have until Thursday this week to accept the offer. So there is still some hope for those of us waiting to get accepted!

Hey Threemary's... don't give up hope yet... You might still have a chance. I would try to call Rosemarie to speak with her directly rather than email. I found she got back to a phone message much faster, I had emailed and never got a response either.

Nursing - Douglas College
Hey Beexo, I finished my pre-reqs in Fall 2015. I applied for Fall 2017... but I haven't heard back yet. From the information I gathered I learned that lots of students who completed in Summer 2015 and didn't get in for Winter 2017 applied for Fall 2017 and got seat offers first. Based on the first qualified. There are soo many nursing students! I hope I get a response soon. Thank you for the information!

Douglas college January 2017
Hey! Just wondering if students who ended up getting wait listed for the January 2017 intake ended up getting in at all? Also wondering what number you were on the wait list if you received an offer?

Douglas College Fall 2017 Nursing applicants
Hey guys. My application status says the same thing. From talking to staff at the college I found out all decisions for applicants have been made and they will be sending out the remaining acceptance letters within a week or so. Apparently they don't send them all out at one time. From what I have been told... the chances for Fall 2015 students were lower this intake because they still had sooo many people who finished in Summer 2015 who didn't get in for Winter 2017 and ended up re-applying. Because these students got admission first... it looks like the chances are very slim. I myself don't know what to do now I had high hopes for this intake... it really sucks that the wait is this long. I feel like if we were told this information from the beginning I would have applied to school outside of the lower mainland. It is VERY disappointing for sure. Good luck to those of you who got accepted! Must be super exciting to finally start!

Douglas College Fall 2017 Nursing applicants
Hey, no one from winter 2016 would have been accepted yet... I finished semester prior and still haven't heard anything. I know other people had already received rejection letters, for those who finished winter 2016.

Douglas College Fall 2017 Nursing applicants
Hi all! Thought I would join in on the discussion. I finished my prereqs in Fall 2015. I have been patiently waiting for an acceptance letter and haven't received anything yet... my status also says pending review! I am soo nervous and so worried about where my application stands right now! This is such an annoying process... good luck to everyone! I feel like I have been trying to get into nursing for years now....When I first started at Douglas they had a different intake process and as I was taking classes they changed everything... so I feel like I got screwed over too many times. Just want to be able to get my career started! Hopefully this time... getting super anxious and impatient now.

Nursing - Douglas College
Hello, I have been applying to many schools for nursing and haven't gotten an acceptance letter yet. I really want to go to Douglas as I have been a student there forever and love it! Sadly... I have been going through such a frustrating process trying to get in.. from having pre-reqs changed while I was completing them to now having to continuously apply with out any indication of when I will be accepted. I have been getting so many mixed msgs from the registrars office and from the advisors! Anyone else in the same boat? I have heard they have a wait list... and some students received an email indicating they were wait listed and will be rolled over... while many others received letters saying they must reapply for the next intake saying they DO NOT have a wait list and don't roll over any applicants. This is really frustrating to know. Anyone know how they decide this? Seems odd, as I applied as soon as the intakes opened each semester and have all my pre-reqs completed. Would love to hear from others!
