Dominican College ABSN 2021

Published

Hello everybody!

I recently applied to Dominican College Weekday ABSN 2021 and would like to meet current applicants, current or former students.  I would also like to read about others experience and thoughts about the school/nursing program in general.

Let's share our experience through this process.

Thanks!

That's what I thought as well! I was taken by surprise when I received the email saying that I had to complete it ASAP. I reached out and was told the same over the phone. Maybe they are requiring it now from me for some reason?

So interesting! Who was the one that reached out to you? I’ve been in contact with Rob Tyrrell  and he hasn’t mentioned it to he and I applied back in February. Ugh I better reach out and ask!

If I’m not mistaken the TEAS are only required for the weekend program. Correct me if I’m wrong though. The person Who emailed me was Carmela.

Oh no I’m applying for the weekday program

I also applied for the weekday program and was under the impression that the TEAS was only required for the weekend program and not the weekday program. At least that’s what it says on the website

Oh that makes sense! Thank you! I actually double looked at it’s just the written placement that I need to take.

Hey Guys!

Yeah I'm so confused. So in my portal it says I've been accepted into the WABSN program as a transfer student for Summer 2021-2022.  However, the documents mailed to me say my start date is May '22. I've been trying to contact them to figure out what is going on but no one has messaged me yet. I do have a TON of prerequisites to complete. My GPA wasn't the greatest and I have about 9 prerequisites to complete(it's going to be a rough few months). There's no way I could do these in a regular classroom by next May, especially because I have a 5month old baby and I work full-time. I went to the virtual open house and I was told that they would accept online credits as long as they were from an accredited school. I still need to write the TEAS, do a math placement test & writing placement test. Wait a minute, are these placement tests essentially ? TEAS??

It's hard to get in contact with anyone from this school! That has me a little troubled because they don't have great NCLEX scores and I choose this school because I've never heard of a WABSN program.

Seems to me that, they are considering you for a May 2022 start. Did you apply before the deadline? If you applied after Nov 1 most likely they won’t consider you for the next upcoming class because there is a lot of competition. I remember someone told me of a previous class where someone came all the way from California to do the program. Dominican doesn’t have that many slots to begin with. Perhaps they feel you may not finish all the pre reqs in time and it’s difficult to access how well you will do in the program without them or at least some completed with grades.

OMG I just got home and got a package that I have been accepted into the nursing program.  It came with orientation date materials. This is not the same as the package that was sent that read that I was accepted into the college. There’s a letter that I must send in within 7 days if I accept. Guys keep a lookout for the mail for a package.
