Ours sure didn't with the exception of our Psych professor. Who, herself would tell you she did not expect anyone to actually pass her exams or class on their own without her help. So I would ask after every exam why bother giving that particular exam if you do not expect anyone to pass it. She would just laugh at me. She was a neat professor though.
Nope, with the exception of one prof. I did well on the test without the curve, which is good. I agree, if professors are constantly giving our curves, then you are getting good grades but not earning them education-wise. It is only going to get harder as you go on, so it wouldn't make sense to give out curves and then rely on curves, especially when in my school, it is very rare than a prof. will give them!
absoultely not. Passing is 75% if you have a 74.8 you fail
wow! our tests are never curved, but our test grades are averaged at the end of the semester and at least ROUNDED!
And our professors are like Tweety described; if enough people miss a particular question, they review that question and decide if the question was a good one. They also allow the students to challenge questions during test review, and if those challenges come in WITH VALID SOURCES, then additional questions may be nullified or multiple answers accepted on a particular question.
Well, I've definately walked out of a few tests thinking I didn't do so hot and then get a better than expected test score back. Happens to others as well. Nobody really knows if we just aren't confident in our critical thinking skills (sorta like how a lot of people think they fail the NCLEX and then find out they passed) or if they did curve it.
