I believe you can do that well here in Albuquerque (and I'll bet the weather's a whole lot nicer too . You are certainly welcome to this growing community.
Connecticut...the price of living here is rediculous so in the end, it's all the same!

My uncle lives in Rio Rancho right outside of Albuquerque. The weather is nice down there, but way too hot for my blood!

Each hospital has its own salary scale -- but most hire new grads (before boards) at the same rate as the new grads (after boards). The assume that you are going to pass and go ahead and pay you as an RN. However, a few places pay less for those who have not passed boards.
Your particular hospital's pay scale as it applies to new grads should be readily available from your manager or nurse recruiter.

Mine went up almost $2.00 after passing the boards. A lot of this is because as a GN at my work, we couldn't do everything an RN can do (such as pass meds or take verbal orders, etc). Like previous posters have said, it depends on the facility. Check with your nurse manager.

Mine went up like 50 measly cents. But it's better than nothing. And there is rumors of a 3.5% raise soon:)

I believe that at the hospital I work at, GN's start at $17.50 plus diff and once they pass the boards it goes up to $20.00. Many of our new nurses have started on the floor as either PCAs or CMTs.
