2 years seems like a long time,.....but on the other hand it doesnt. For those of you already in nursing school, do the semesters fly by or is it just one long dragging semester after another???
I have 2 little girls (4 and 2) so Im nervous about how much they'll have to be in daycare and how it will affect them. But hey its only 2 years right?.......
Hi Hopeful, Yes and No... 2 Years isn't a long time, but with all that you have to accomplish in those 2 years, there are many times that you feel like it will never end. We're now done with classes, just the final to go and Graduation, so "finally" a light at the end of a long tunnel.
You mentioned having children. A lot of us on the boards have done this with children, work, taking care of a home, etc. The important thing is to make the most of the free time you have during school and enjoy your family. My Sons got really tired of hearing me say - I can't take you there, I have to study.. It's going to be so nice to have my life back and get back on a regular schedule and do stuff with the kids again - very nice.

It's like being pregnant...the morning sickness drives you nuts (before a test), the weight gain (from lack of a healthy diet), those clothes they make you wear (all white), the 36th week feels like ten years from now...but then a new life begins, another birthday goes by, and all the sudden it feels like just yesterday you were sitting there with that miracle in your hands...where did the time go!
It's a journey of high's and low's, joy and pain, laughter and tears...so worth it in the end!
I am almost done with my first semester. Time has stood still at times and I'm still trying to figure out how 16 weeks in real life takes a year in nursing school. LOL
Everyone (hubby who went throught the same program included) swears that after nursing one, it flies by. At moments, that's been the only thing that has kept me sane.
Another thing, I keep thinking of my program as a two year program, when in reality, one of our semesters (psych) is a summer class so it's only five weeks.
You can do it. Nicorette can help.
:nuke: For me it F*L*E*W*~~~~~ by like crazy! Ihad sooooo much fun in school that although i was excited to be graduating, I was also pretty sad that it was over!! I made some awsome friends and had a wonderful nursing school experience. Hope you enjoy it as well, it will go by faster than you think, even at the time it may seem to be dragging!!:nuke:

I thought it would never end !!! Of course I had to work full time and raise 2 small children while going through a divorce. Now 11 yrs. later I am back in school for my BSN and I can't wait for it to be over too. One thing I can say is that I never regretted nursing school,no matter how exhausted, keep on going.
