Check with you state BON, I'm not sure if it varies state to state. I'm in FL, and all you need is your ATT to practice as a GN.

ATT stands for Authorization to Test (or take the NCLEX exam). I would imagine you would have to check with your state BON to see if you are a graduate nurse and eligible to work in a hospital (of course, you'd have to be hired)

In Illinois you have to pass your boards before you can practice. Some facilities will start training you with no hands on as far a nursing. Some facilities will let you work as a CNA until you pass boards. Check with your instructor at school. Our school told us what we could and couldn't do prior to passing boards.

In VA you can practice for up to 90 days. I know that part and I know I am waiting on some letter letting me know my whole application was recieved but I don't know which one I am waiting for. I can't seem to find the information I am looking for on the va bon website either. Thanks ladies

Varies by state. In TN I was not allowed to practice as a nurse until passing boards. I did still work with my preceptor and start learning charting, did assessments, etc but I was not allowed to do anything invasive or give meds.

i know in TX it doesn't. you have to show up on the BON's website under the graduate nurses.
