Do your teachers round up grades?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I am just curious how the majority of teachers grade. This semester most of mine wont round your grade at all but I got a 89.76% in my Micro class and I am hoping she will round up but I have not heard back. I hate being so close to an A and not getting it lol.

All of the professors in my pre-req's did. Nursing school, however was a big fat no, never, not gonna happen. I know one classmate that had a 74.98 and failed the class.

I round my grades for my students, if it is > 0.49 then I round up to the next point and if it is

During prerequisite classes my profs rounded, but not in my nursing classes. I know a student that was repeating a class. He had figured out that he failed the first time by one test question.

Our teachers generally rounded up >0.5. I think there may have been one teacher that didn't.

No, an 89.999 is still an 89. But 90 is a B anyway in our program.

My teacher rounded my 85.96 to an 86 so I got a B instead of a B- this semester. Whoo!

My teacher gave me an A :) it was a pre req class for nursing so I was really hoping for an A. She was the only teacher that didnt have anything about it in her syllabus and when I asked her she said she usually doesnt but would take a look at my grades.

If it is extremely close, yes. If not, no. For instance an 89.56 would not get rounded up, but an 89.96 would.

In pre -reqs yes, in nursing school, I think so but not to pass the class. But in nursing school 90% wasn't an A, 80% wasn't a B and I think 75% was minimum for passing.

Some professors do and some don't. You should really speak to your prof on this.

In most of my general education courses (probably like 95% of my classes), my professors rounded grades that were borderline...you know like 89%ish or w/e. If you were active in class and made the effort to contact the professor all the time, they generally showed more leniency in final grades and final tests. I remember this one professor who was super lenient on grades. The joke was that he rounded the grades so much that it was a circle...lol.

In nursing school, 0 leniency on grading and no rounding whatsoever, no matter how much bloody tears you had. The grade you got is the grade you earned, regardless of anything else.

Gen ed credits yes, nursing credits no. I know of people who failed nursing courses by .04%
