If you want to be a nuse then continue on your path of becoming a nurse. Do not change your major and settle for something that means nothing to you. Do exactly what you're thinking about, retake those classes and increase your science GPA but don't keep to the same study habits because they are seemingly useless. Get as much help as you need from your prof or tutors, and prepare yourself by re-looking over the material before jumping back into those classes. I say this because an older woman who I took Organic Chem with failed the class with an F at the first time. But after taking the whole summer to teach the material to herself before she retook the class again she ended up with an A on every exam while some of our classmates were giving her the evil eye because they were jealous.

Yeah that's about right, same here we need 45 credits to apply as well. Idk, I just thought that some of these other BSN programs don't require much prerequisites to take a nursing course.

I'm curious to know, how many prerequisites are needed to get into your nursing program? Mines requires 19 for a BSN program which I'm wondering if this is the norm for going for a bachelor's in nursing? I would like here from all people who have persude or is persuing there ADN/ASN or BSN. The worst part of it is that every class I take is a prerequisite, so I have to shoot for A''s in every last one of them. Which is a little steep since I take about 16-18 credits per semester.

Why do you think those students with 4.0 GPA were rejected? It could be hundreds of possibilities since not every students applies with the right prerequisite done, not turning in a transcript, not getting a good grade on the Hesi, application is lacking, missing the deadline, etc. So please don't blind yourself with that notion that only your GPA matters because it doesn't. And if that was the case, what would make a 3.5 any better than that 4.0? Just worry about yourself and do the best that you can in these pre-reqs. And if you're gunning for all A''s you better know your weaknesses in how many classes you can take at a time, your study skills, how you perform in the class, etc. Nothing will come easy to you in life but don't give out in your dream of becoming a nurse as some people just have to work harder than others to get there.

My semester ended last Friday, thank god. And so far I believe I have 7 A''s but one of the A''s is still questionable since one of my Prof hasn't put the final exam grade in yet, and in her class an A is a 93. But so far I have a 100%. Also I will be applying for the nursing program next month and hopefully I'll get in for the Fall 2017 term.

Omg, my A&P 1 class SUCKED because my instructor could not teach! She read everything off the PowerPoint that was verbatim to the book =almost 60 pages for a 3 hour class and people be falling asleep or just ready to leave. We had about 8 people dropping the class, 9 D''s, 15 C''s, 6 B's, and only 4 A's!!! The only reason I got an A in the class was because she kept curving the lecture exam in which I would have had B''s on all of them. People kept failing them and complain to the Dean. Plus, the final lab exam was horrible!!! She had pictures of the structures of the heart, arteries, and lymphatic system and we're supposed to label them but you couldn't see what the lines were pointing to on the piture since it was so dark and people just started guessing. She had the original picture in the room on 3 sheets of paper for like 38 students and people wasn't passing them back and you only had a certain amount of time to finish both exams. I'm still pissed about how I had to guess on my Lab exam even though I knew them answers. She is the only A&P teacher in my university, so I will have to take her again next spring.

I think a 3.766 is a really GPA to have. I mean who expects you get all A''s in every class you take?? A couple B''s here and there wouldn't hurt anybody.

I'm sorry, but who cares about your high school grades??? Nobody. Worry about getting good grades in your college pre-reqs instead of fussing over some HS classes that will do nothing but besides admitting you into an expensive university which equals more loans and slaving to pay them off. I mean, I failed a lot of classes in HS and ended up graduating with a 2.9 and had a 19 on the ACT. But now I have a 4.0 GPA in college because that is all that really matters. Go to community college until you've racked up at least 25 hours than transfer to a university. You will do fine.

I would definitely ask your teach or one of your classmates because they will have more insight on it.

I think that will by fine but in my college, my music appreciation class is work and paper heavy along with my prof like giving us these 4-6 listening journals every week. Plus, pop quizzes and quizzes every week. Yeah....it's a gen eds but my prof tries to make it a core class. So just make sure you look at some teacher reviews first so you know what you're getting yourself into.

I'm curious to know, when you work a 8-12 hour shift and if you're constantly busy does it feel less of a long day? Because I currently work a retail job for 4-5 a hours a day with hardly any customers come in (rural area), so it feels like I am there forever and keep watching the clock. I hate that in a job since I like to stay busy. That is one of the things that attracted me to nursing because I would always be doing something and not just sitting around and waiting for something to do.

Definitely A&P 1. In micro I got A's on every exam for lab and lecture.... In A &P, I hanging on a thread to try to keep my A in the course itself.

Just as the title says, I'm trying to decide whether I should volunteer for at least 3 months at my local hospital to get my foot in the door as a future nurse?
