  1. The exam is very basic common knowledge! You get two attempts if you don't score above a 75% in each category. I used hesi elsevier (purple book, 3rd edition) to study. Make sure you review your muscles and bones for the anatomy section of the exam!
  2. Hi everyone. I'm a first semester nursing student after having most of my pre reqs completed at a community college. I will be graduating in 2 years and I would just like to know, at what point during nursing school did you start studying for the NCLEX? Also, were there any NCLEX review books that actually helped you study/pass nursing exams?
  3. Course numbers and sections can vary from school to school but the overall class itself and the content associated with it is the same. You may want to clarify what BIO 235 is. :)
  4. I really don't think it's necessary.. I don't feel like I would "benefit" from sharing that to the public so I would just tell my family and friends in person.
  5. Husband: You don't look that great, are you alright? Wife: Yeah, I just can't decide if I need a hug, XL coffee, a few months of sleep, or a half a dozen drinks.
  6. Husband: I'm going out to buy some earmuffs for this cold weather, do you want a pair? Wife: Yeah, I'll have some. Not being my ears are cold though..I'm just tired of hearing people whining
  7. Hi everyone, I'm almost halfway done with my unknown project and for my next test I have to do Methyl Red. However, the last time I did this test I completely messed up. Am I supposed to add the Methyl red dye to my culture and not the control??
  8. For me, TEAS was much more difficult. I only studied for a week on the HESI and I scored a 88%. For the TEAS I studied for about 2-3 months and ranged in the mid 70s.
  9. "I'm not usually like this, it's just the stuffing!"
  10. Nurse: "After you're out of that costume, don't forget to set your bathroom scale back 10 lbs tonight."
  11. I'll be entering nursing school in January and I couldn't be more excited, yet nervous. For my pre-requisite courses, most of them were pure memorization and I am aware nursing school is focused on applying the information you learned rather than just memorizing it. My question is, what study methods worked the best with you? I understand that nursing school can get overwhelming and I just want to explore the different options of being able to understand the material and applying it.
  12. Yes, I ended up dropping it. I emailed my advisor about whether or not the W would affect me getting into the school, but since she sent my completed application along with my HESI scores to the admissions committee before I dropped the class, it won't be showing up. I'll have to take Chem at Chamberlain but I don't mind that.
  13. Good luck!! After I took the exam I got notified of my acceptance a week later! The exam is not bad at all :)
  14. "Try not to think too much about us 3 because after your trip to the OR, you'll be with ONE of us!"
  15. A&P is a difficult class. The first lecture exam I took I got a C in. From then on, I changed my study habits. I read my lecture notes every day for 2-3 hours and I would start studying for exams a week in advance. Quizlet really helped with memorizing terms and study groups helped out a ton. But instead of just memorizing terms, I applied them to real world situations. This made it really easy for me to grasp the overall concepts.
