Do you have a side hustle?

Nurses General Nursing

I am curious to know if you do something else on the side to earn extra income in addition to being a nurse.

I know some nurses work somewhere else PRN and a few nurses I know who do photography and such on the side. What is your side hustle?

never met a bartender with a porftolio of stocks.

A friend of mine stripped for years, invested in real estate at the right time, and retired early and teaches yoga for fun in exotic locations. ?

Back before I got my current position making great money, I would do all kinds of art for extra income from painting murals for a community theatre to comic submissions to a local rag to street cartooning and art shows. I hung up my public art guns after my last show in June '03.

I still do art for a barter sort of thing. For example, just this past week, a neighbor stopped on his way to work to help me hook up my '51 Chevy pickup to my towbar after it broke down near his house. He happened to mentioned that a sign had been stolen so I made and hung one for him that very same day.

I'm getting my coding and billing certification. That will be my side hustle.

My wife and I both RAN's (Remote Area Nurses) set up a business after more than 25 years working in the bush called Topend Liposonics on FB doing body sculpting and have started a scar release program that is changing the lives of the people brave enough to come and see us. Nothing we do is invasive or painful but uses modern electronic technologies. This is the most rewarding job in Nursing that I have ever had both emotionally and financially.

I just left dialysis for case management in Hospice, but my dialysis job is keeping me PRN. I have yet to pick up any shifts, but I'm not out of orientation yet.

I loved Hospice and HH but did not enjoy driving the wheels off of my car...

I just looked at your FB page. Fascinating! You're on the other side of the globe from me, so I just looked out of curiosity, but thank you for sharing!

My side gig is hobby farmer! I have a small 5 acre farm that I am working on developing into a business. I have a mammoth donkey that I ride, a horse, a mini horse, miniature zebu cows, chickens, rabbits, a cat and 4 rescue dogs. I would like to make it into an educational hobby farm for children to visit and learn about animals and farming. My future plans include hosting field trips, teaching milking cows, making butter, cheese making, basic animal care for kids; donkey rides, adding honey bees and a chicken share community program. If anyone has any suggestions that I haven’t mentioned please comment! What would interest you in coming to visit a hobby farm?

Napping. Still working through the details to figure out how to make money on it.

I do long term care assessments on the side. Its not steady income so I still have to work my full time job but its only assessments no bedside care. I have been looking for another side hustle but so far the ones listed I don't have any experience in lol

I kicked around the idea of photography on the weekends or days off, but the market is oversaturated with photographers. So my side hustle looks like it's going to be overtime. I need to get some control over my student loans.

Yes there are a lot of photographers bit if you find a niche you could be sitting on a gold mine! One friend does food photography. Like for smaller mom and pop restaurants. And if you are good with kids..., focusing on special needs population could be a great side gig. A lot of special needs kids don't take the best pics because the work it takes to get them smiling or happy....most photographers don't take the needed time. Snap pics all day of my kiddos (candids during our regular day) for their parents and out of prob 200 I get 2 or 3 GOOD ones. As a home health nurse I keep them ALL and upload to a memory stick for the parents because unfortunately in my line of work, these pics are all the parents may have of their kids since many are hospice and critically ill. Taking a good pic of kids who aren't long for this world is a huge gift to those parents.
