Sophomore year tests were TOP SECRET! Took the test and never saw them again! Everything except the bubble sheet was shredded immediately.
Our junior year faculty were much more resonable. We did a test review after the test....they handed our test forms back and discussed any questions, took any concerns into account before grading.
We reviewed every one of our tests throughout the program. We had to return the tests after the review, but we were free to jot down something for future reference or whatever.Unless we were extremely pressed for time, the in-class test reviews sometimes took up to 45 minutes - going over questions that many people had missed, or answering individual questions. Occasionally a question was thrown out or credit given for 2 answers based on the class item analysis from the scantron.
We got our scantrons back, then everyone got their numbered copy of the test back and we went over them in class. Then we turned back in our numbered copies, she counted to make sure they were all there and we kept our scantrons. If anyone was absent during the test, we couldn't go over them until that person had taken the test.
We also had the option to review the test privately with the instructor in her office.

Just a quick poll. Do your nursing instructors give back your tests and if not do they at least allow you to see your test after so that you can see where you are weak? In my current nursing class you are not allowed to keep or view the entire test but rather you are allowed to see a "rationale" for each question. However some of the time we are only allowed to see a "rationale" without the question and in one of my other classes we are not allowed to see anything except how many we got right or wrong. Just curious!Kelly
Right after the exam, we get to go next door to another building and look at the key. We can't have any pencils or paper but you can keep track of how many you miss. Then the next week we have and exam review where you can look at your scantron and question sheet with out any paper or pencils. Occasionally, they will use a repeat of another test on the Final exam but rarely!

we dont get to keep our tests...our teachers say that if they collect and keep them they dont have to re write them every class/year. I really wish we could have them back though!
