Do Nurses STILL want to marry Doctors?

Published

REALITY CHECK!

After reading some of other threads, a theme of nurse-doctor dating/marrying prevails...

I thought we were past that...maybe not.

Reminds me of the throwback nurses of the 1950's and 1960's who were gah-gah over the television characters Dr. Kildare and Dr. Ben Casey...

...or the nurses of the 1970's who cooed over the television character Dr. Marcus Welby and also actor James Brolin...(Forgive I can't remember if James Brolin Performed in TV program Marcus Welby, MD or Medical Center)...

I thought we were all past that...

I can remember some women, yes women, admitting to entering the nursing profession in order "to meet and marry a doctor."...

I don't get it.

Are we still salivating the ancient fantasies of the past?

Do Nurses STILL want to marry Doctors?

I would date a doctor, but not because he is a doctor. I tend to be attracted to super masculine men, and some docs are for sure. As far as a profession that is hot...firemen!!

On a related note: I convinced my wife to date me by showing her a video of me pounding in a prosthetic hip. :D

I'm not sure your first 90% is necessarily incompatible with the last 10%.

WANNA get married???:lol2:

tired RN wanting to toss the "whites"

I went to nursing school with a girl who ended up admitting about half way through the program that she was only there to find a doctor to marry... Talk about a waste of a spot in an impacted program!!! I always wanted to tell her there were probably easier (and cheaper) ways to get a doctor.

i'm married to a very popular soft drink merchandiser. he beats the socks off any doctor any old day..:D

I've known of a few people who went to pharmacy school so they would have easy access to drugs. There are much easier and cheaper ways to do that as well.

I would...but then again, I've always been attracted to doctors for some reason. However, I think becoming a nurse just to marry a doctor is stupid. Fortunately for me, I want to become a nurse because I actually want to be a nurse. Marrying the doctor is just extra *LOL* ; )

I agree with Leslie's "i'd marry a veterinarian." I am dating one and am enthralled. She is kind, intelligent, sweet, and hot. We seem to be an unbelievable match.

Do Nurses STILL want to marry Doctors?

I've been boy-crazy all of my life, according to my family, so perhaps I'm not the one to ask.

But YES!

I mean, I didn't get into this job to meet doctors, and it's not my goal to marry a doctor because he's a doctor.

It just so happens there's this one doc...who's cute, nice, smart, cute near my age, loves the Lord, cute, has a puppy and is single... Def. not raking in the bucks because he's a 2nd year resident and most likely still has loans to pay off from Med School and university before that. I'm secretly madly in love with him.

But guess what? I don't like bars, don't attend a church, and my friends who are guys are not date material. So where else am I to meet guys?
