Do you know if any hospitals in Phoenix are hiring new grads???

Girl...I licked out I have a contract with Iasis and that's the ONLY reason I found a job, those I know who didn't take the contract are still looking.

Passed my boards on Monday!!! WOOHOO

Um. The only reason that people have a contract with IASIS healthcare is because they went to Apollo College. My husband could not get hired there because they only hire APOLLO students. Girl GOOD LUCK. It took my husband 6 months to find a job. He went to job fairs and they only wanted exspirenced RN's. I nick named him MR. NOT SELECTED because that's all that the job posting would say after he applied. He had already passed his boards and had a license too. And he went to Scottdale Com. College. It's super tough to find a job right now as a new grad RN.

Did your husband have any kind of healthcare experience before graduation? Like working as a CNA, student extern, or PCT? I'm just curious what factors are going into who gets jobs right away and who is having to look longer, etc.

Yes. He worked as a CNA, PCT and moniter tech. It would of helped allot if he had worked as an LPN before getting an RN. I would call the nurse directors and tell them you're very interested in thier departent, but they might tell you that you need to go through HR.

Maricopa County has new grad jobs on their website. I believe any teaching hospital does. Look at St. Joes and Good Sam also online. Northern AZ healthcare (Flagstaff) has new grad jobs too the last time I looked at their jobs.

I have 3 years of ICU experience and a CCRN and am having a problem finding a job too! I am on a travel contract that ends in May.

They will definitely tell you that you need to go through HR. And yes, Candy they do hire us because there were over 40 of us in the last year that they paid for schooling for and then had to place even though they had no jobs available. The program was a blessing to me and my family they pd 18k of my tuition, whoch is outrageously expensiv e at Apollo, and were barely able to find me a job. I am glad he found something!

I saw a posting for new grad jobs at Children's that start in July. Go to their website they have a list of criteria 3.0 GPA, two letters of recommend from clinical instructors... stuff like that.

I was on the last leg of my interview for Northern Arizona Healthcare(flagstaff/cottonwood) and just received the call today, that they cancelled all their new grad programs:(:(
