Disruption during NCLEX

Let me just start off by saying, I didn't pass my first time. When I got to my testing site 45min early, I was extremely nervous. Who wouldn't be right?! Anyway, I get to the front desk, where I was greeted by who I thought was a really nice test proctor. She checked my ID. I have 12 letters in my first name. The DMV decided that it was too long to fit. Anyway, knowing this might be a problem, I came prepared, why? Cause I'm so used to people trying to give me crap bout my name. I gave the woman a State ID instead which by the way was valid and had the correct whole spelling of my name. Well, she wanted to give me crap and about this time she decided to check her sources and time is definitely running out 4 when I'm to begin my exam. She claimed that my ID was from another state. I gave her my DL from the state I was in. So I didn't see the problem. I stated that directions for testing made it clear that we are to provide valid IDs with correct spelling, it didn't say anything about what state it should be from. She finally let me in after what felt like 40min. I got in and on question 23, this 'Test Proctor' comes back in the test room and tells me I may have to discontinue taking my exam and ask me for my ID again. I'm thinking, 'Are you serious!!!!' (what the f). She then comes back and says, 'I apologize, u may continue.' Wow, does someone out there feel as angry as I do?! I think everything was inapporiate. People are already stressed and to disturb anyone in the middle of an important exam is outrageous. I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to continue instead of what question will be next!! The test proctor should have read the instructions before she came in to work.

Did you make a complaint to her supervisor after the test? Someone else may have the same issue with her (If I was in you state and had to go through her I would have the same problem as my first name is long (9 letters) but my last name is even longer (12 letters) hyphenated at that.

It is not too late to complain about what happened. If there was a problem, they should have prevented you from starting the test. What they did was not correct and a reason to cause you distress. I would complain, no matter what the results of the test are.

You need to contact the testing center (where you paid to take it), and report this.

This is 100% unacceptable and to me, they need to absorb all of the fees for you to retake the exam.

If they don't have a proctor that is able to make decisions or someone that she can clearly contact for a decision, then they need to train their proctors better.

What they did is 190% unacceptable. You came prepared.

I would definitely Complain, no matter what the results. That lady must be out of her ever-loving mind. That exam is extremely stressful and I am confident to say that she raised your stress level up 10 more notches!!!

it's your right to complain...

btw, on my testing area, every1 is friendly and nice. =)

To raise your blood pressure some more, let me remind you that you paid dearly for that testing session. You paid to have an appropriate testing session, quiet, moderate temperature, well lit, functioning computer, NO DISTRACTIONS; not to be harassed by someone who didn't know what they were doing. You deserve a refund of your wasted testing fees.
