Direct Entry MSN's 2010

Just curious if anyone who has applied to the Direct Entry MSN programs at UMASS Worcester, MGH, or Northeastern for Fall 2010 has been contacted about interviews or received word either way yet? I know the deadlines aren't until this week but just wondering if anyone sent their applications in early has heard anything. Thanks!

Hi All,

I applied to MGH and Northeastern right around the deadlines and haven't heard back yet.

I had a 3.45 in my undergrad and a 4.0 for pre-requisites

My GRE scores were 540 verbal, and 720 quantitative

anyone else wiling to share what they got? I really have no idea if that is considered good or not.

Hi-

I logged onto the agora portal for BC and the application status says that decisions will be mailed out in February. I remember also hearing that we will know mid January but at this point Febraury is a week away so I'm expecting to hear in the next couple weeks.

I applied to BC and didn't get in. They let me know via e-mail this week. I knew it was a long shot, I didn't do as well on the GRE's as I thought I would, I was very surprised actually. I also have a low GPA (3.02) and pre-req GPA is a little higher (3.50) ... I was banking on my GRE's to help me but they only hurt me. I still have my fingers crossed for NU, Simmons, MGH, and Regis!

I called MGH today and they said they're sending out their decisions via regular mail tentatively planned for Feb. 17th!

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing your interview experience with us. What types of questions were asked? Was it with only one other person? How long was it? Did they let you know when you would find out if you were accepted?

Anything you could share would be very much appreciated!

The interview was with the program director and lasted about 30 minutes. She was very nice, converstational and casual and seemed very excited about the program. She asked a few basic questions about what my motivation was to become an NP, why I liked NEU, what I saw myself doing in 5 year etc. She then said I should expect to hear from them within in a month. I hope that helps... has anyone else heard about interviews?

Thanks so much for your response. I have an interview on the 19th and am very excited and anxious about it! I applied to 7 different schools and Northeastern is my top choice so I'm really hoping my interview goes well! Good luck to you!

PsychRN - When did you hear about the interview and how were you notified?

I was notified over the phone 2 days ago. I don't really understand their process because it seems that some people are notified via email also. I know that they are scheduling interviews for feb. 12, 19, and 20.
