How true, how very very true! I like this one......

The old nurse has bilateral Bunionectomy scars.

I've been a nurse for 30 years and I've just begun dealing with bunion's. I didn't realize they were related to nursing. Makes sense though!

The new nurse wears T-shirts and carries a bag with "RN" printed all over them.

The used nurse doesn't want the public to know she's a nurse so that she doesn't have to perform CPR on her day off, or answer health questions at a party.

The new nurse is actually excited about her first NG tube, and lays out the needed equipment in precise order just like she was taught in nursing school.

The used nurse knows the most important piece of equipment is the emesis basin, and tosses everything else on the bedside table.

The new nurse knows how to calculate IV drip rates for every type of tubing.

The used nurse just fetches an infusion pump.

The new nurse will spend half a shift attempting to re-orient a dementia patient to reality.

The used nurse figures the patient's reality is probably a lot better than her version of it, and at times will even join him ("OK, how many ducks have you shot today? Wow.......looks like good eatin' TONIGHT!!").

Specializes in ICU/CCU/MICU/SICU/CTICU.

LOL, guess Im an old nurse then, because I can relate to or have done the majority of these listed!!!

The new nurse will work and contribute to social security and never collect.

The old nurse is about to retire and start collecting social security.

The new nurse is trying to dodge the oncoming traffic.

The old nurse is driving the bus. "Thump, thump...we got another one Esther!"

Funny....but true! :roll

Saw myself in a lot of those "experienced" nurse descriptions. Kinda' scary! I guess I've been around longer than I thought!
