Did you take a Medical Terminology class?

Just wondering if this is a normal requirement. One of the nursing programs in our area requires you either take a Medical Terminology class, or take a test.

However, the other program does not require medical terminology whatsoever.

Yes, it's a requirement at my school. I'm taking it right now. The class is really boring.

Luckily, the one I'm taking is online, and self-paced. So I've essentially finished it already.

I took one, yes. Our program did not include it, so I took the class through a local community college. I found it to be EXTREMELY helpful. You're able to identify and kind or surgery or disease so long as it follows Greek/Latin roots. Definitely gave me a huge upper hand in class, compared to the other girls in my classes.

My program doesn't require the class. I did, however, take the course a few years ago because another program I was in required it. I can only say that the class was very beneficial, if not monetarily, certainly in enhancing my understanding of what I was reading and discussing.

The programs I'm applying to don't require it but it was an easy A and GPA booster :)

It's not required for any of the programs in STL that I know of. I took it though and it has been extremely helpful. And as someone else pointed out, it's an easy A!

My school doesn't require it but I took it back in high school. Very beneficial.

I am taking this class currently and I also took the class my freshman year of college back when I was pre-Med. It is actually very helpful when getting into to my a&p chapters. Its an easy A that going to help in the long run.

My school requires it for the pre-nursing certificate, but I took the ACT test instead to get accepted into the nursing program. I'm still taking medical terminology online though because I have no medical background and was told that it can be very useful.

My school doesn't require it, but others that I researched did. It seemed to follow geographic lines.

Specializes in Oncology/hematology.

Test, but no class. Easiest test I've ever taken!
