Did I really just pass??

Published

I took my NCLEX RN this afternoon at 1. It took me about 50 minutes when the computer shut off. Never had I been so certain that I bombed an exam. Half my test was SATA. I answered q 75 and was hoping it didn't shut off and sure enough it did. I drove home and went to check and ended up with the good pop up. Our records indicate that blah blah blah. I just really didn't think I passed, however it's too soon to tell. I've read here that it's not 100% accurate but hopefully it was for me.

Good luck to everyone else taking the exam.

Let's hope that the trick works and you are an RN!!!

If your exam status says "Delivery Successful" and you're getting the good popup, then you've likely passed, especially so since your exam shut off at 75 questions. It won't do that unless you've definitively passed or failed at that point. I would be seriously shocked if you failed because your exam shut off at 75. I'd be less so if it went beyond that and then shut off. Your exam will likely be scored that second time (they do it for QC) shortly, if it hasn't already been scored that second time.

I got my license less than 48 hours after I took the exam. Some members here got theirs the same day or within 24 hours. That means they're scoring the exam twice within a matter of hours, if not minutes, of you completing the exam.

I'd say do a little celebrating, but wait for positive confirmation that you've passed or not. If you're in a Quick Results state, you might want to consider paying for that if you're right at 48 hours and you've not heard anything about your license.

Congrats!! Mine was exactly the same. I was hoping it would't shut off, because I felt like I didn't prove myself. My quick results should be available tomorrow so I'll keep you updated. I am not celebrating officially until then (Don't want to jinx anything)/

Thank you for that.

So how do I get my license? Do they send it to me or something ? How do I check? I got the delivery successful and the good pop up so i hope it's correct. I live in NY so I'm pretty sure it is quick results. I'll keep ya guys posted.

I would do some celebrating if I were you because I know you passed!

I was just annoyed by how many SATAs I got. How many SATA would you say you got? Mine was nearly half of the exam!

Congratulations!!! That's terrific news!

I've seen some of your posts the past few weeks (using Kaplan) and wanted to ask if you felt the NCLEX was easier/harder than Kaplan? Also, when taking the test, could you most often eliminate 2 answers fairly easily - or find the correct one? Did you feel your preparation was sufficient with Kaplan content book and qtrainers/qbank? Did you practice additional SATA with another resource?

I take my NCLEX 8/7. I took HURST, have Kaplan on-line (and qtrainer/qbank) and also have NCSBN. Thanks for any advice/tips and if you want to PM me feel free.

For me, I'm not too sure Kaplan was 100% great, however for some people they swear by it. I did all the q trainers and stuff so that's at least 1000 questions I did with them. I have to say that nclex was slightly easier in that the questions were straightforward, though I had a lot of SATA so not really. I think you can pass without the use of Kaplan to be honest. But everyone raves about it and you fall into the trap of thinking you need it in order to pass.

I hear Hurst is good and my friend felt it was the best for her. It's a good way to boost your content game, though you need to do questions in order to get it to sink in. Some of the questions you can eliminate off the top, but some are just you either know it or you don't. The SATAs were pretty straightforward in my opinion. Some of them I scratched my head and probably got wrong. I was clueless on at least 2 of them. I really felt like I failed when it shut off. I'll find out in a couple of days though.

I think with the those resources you should do just fine. Just do a little bit each day. And try not to freak out come exam day. Remember you only have to get 50% or more of the questions right in order to pass. If I can do it, most people can.

I got more than half SATA and I wasn't sure about any them except one. At one point I got a SATA where there were 3 things listed for each answer choice and 2 would seem correct, but I wasn't 100% about the 3rd. I rly hope it's accurate.

oh, ps, I am from New Jersey but did new york boards because I am doing my BSN there. New York does in fact participate in quick results so by tomorrow morning. I believe that you log in to the site and it will say results available and you pay around $8.00. So far, mine says no results available yet.

Well that's good to know. You can still get both licenses in NY and NJ. Which nursing school in NY you doing?
