Did I pass NCLEX-RN?

Published

I took the test 5 hours ago. 136 questions and, I kid you not, more than half were SATAs. After my test ended, the only thing that was on my mind was I probably failed. Because I thought I failed, I figured I should try the trick that people on this forum have been saying--enter credit card and submit (I was planning on taking the test right away anyhow so why not?). And I did. I got the 'good popup'.

My question is, did I check in too early that this may just be from the previous test?

I am going to buy the quick result in two days but I just want to have a little peace of mind so I can sleep tonight.

(This is the page that showed up when I tried submitting it--http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2mquweq&s=8#.U_5rkWMXO3M)

Thank you

You have managed to ask a question that NO ONE here can answer correctly with any certainty. But you know that already, don't you?

The PVT, as students have known it, is now a bit of technological history. I have no doubt there will be claims of another 'trick', and other 'beat the system' kinds of things, but until then, it is what it is.

I'm sorry you'll need to wait until official results are confirmed. But if someone says "YOU PASSED!! Congrats!!" and you failed, what kind of peace of mind did you get? Or, vice versa: 'sorry, you failed!' and you passed.

Get something to eat, a stiff drink, and try to get some sleep.

It's the best we (or you) can do for yourself at this point.

You're right. I guess I am just too antsy about this whole thing. D;

rnsrwe is correct, no one can answer. The number of questions doesn't mean a thing, people pass and fail anywhere between 75 and 265; Likewise the number of SATA.

The thing about this new so called trick is that so far NO ONE has said anything about getting all the way to "payment accepted". No one therefore knows if everyone gets that popup when they try to pay. The cc page is what everyone gets now. PV fixed the glitch and took away the trick. It would therefore make perfect sense that they would stop everyone from paying until the results are in. Until people start posting that they were allowed to pay then later found out they failed, no one is going to know if this is a new trick or just a general popup. to me, it makes little sense to risk paying $200 if it is a trick, because there could be false failures and you would have just thrown away your money.

By the way, EVERYONE thinks that they failed. I have never heard anyone leave a testing center without feeling that way.

I just have to wait it out for 2 days. Btw, the quick result is a definite answer whether you pass or not, right?

P.S.

Someone in the testing center left right after I did and he was jumping like he knew he passed. I was so envious.

I don't know what state you are in but here in OK, ours shows up on the bon website a little less than 48 hours later. I took the test monday and stayed awake til 4am to check it. My name was not there. I still (because I was in hope) paid for the quick results today to only see that i failed. The quick results are "unofficial" results, it still has to go through the bon. They also only work if your results are available, which should be 48 business hours later.

Or he had finally gone insane after all the pressure leading up to the test!

Quick Results will definitely tell you if you have passed the test or not. That is what you are paying for. It will not tell you that you will get a LICENSE, as your State BON does that, based on not only passing the NCLEX but the rest of your application.

If there's nothing in your application indicating you shouldn't get a license, AND you pass the test....a license will be on its way :)

Hang in there!

I'm trying. I might need to knock myself out to fall asleep though. The wait kills me. =(

Thank you for answering my question btw. :D

Yeah, the wait is probably the worst part of the exam, honestly. RNsRwe is right...go do something to keep your mind off of the exam. Watch a funny movie, do the things you were wishing that you could when you were studying for your exam, keep busy, and before you know it your results will be in.

Best wishes!

rnsrwe is right, the quick results is definitive if you passed the test.

the wait is horrible, it is for everyone!

The person jumping up and down was probably just relieved that he didn't have to study for NCLEX anymore! There is no way he knew if he passed or not.

The person jumping up and down may not have even taken the NCLEX. Pearson Vue testing centers administer quite a variety of examinations from proctored school exams for Excelsior College to CPA and architecture credentialing exams. Its most likely that the guy "jumping up and down" took a different exam or maybe he just got a call that his new baby was born and is healthy. Unless you know for certain that he sat the NCLEX (and I can tell you when I tested out of the 42 p eople testing at the same time I did only 4 were taking a NCLEX exam) don't make assumptions.

The quick results are accurate regarding pass or fail, they are unofficial as only the board of nursing can officially release the NCLEX results and issue a license. Just because you pass the NCLEX is not a guarantee that you are getting a nursing license. Go take a peek in the Nursing License with a Criminal History forum and see...some pass the NCLEX but have to wait for a license because of excessive speeding tickets.

Yes, JustBeachy is right, that person could have been taking another exam. Some other exams will give you your results right then and there at the testing center. That could explain why he was celebrating.

If they were taking NCLEX- they could have just been relieved that it was over.
