OK, there are a lot of people at work saying that at some time Hillary Clinton said that nurses pay is way too high and that they are just glorified baby sitters. Has any one else heard this. I've looked at may sights on her and can't find it. If she did say that, it needs to be made known. Nurses are a large voting population. I hope for her sake she didn't say that. Is that part of her medical reform plan ? :angryfire :pumpiron:
I think Arnold in Calif made some disparaging remarks, if I'm not mistake.
Sorry to say this is so - at least what I remember hearing a while back.
ANA could have endorsed her without knowing it, prior to her saying it, whatever. She is only human but I hope she didn't say that and doesn't think it. That would be so disrespectful.
Somehow I doubt the Senator made this remark. Her husbands mother was a nurse. There maybe some sort of statement out there about better utilization of health care and the professional who work in facilities. But she does not seem so stupid as to slap our profession in the face and then get an endorsement by the ANA.

He made remarks about UNIONS . . . not nurses. It just so happened to be a nursing union.
As to Hillary - I don't care what she said about nurses in particular. I do care that she is in favor of universal health care and I adamantly disagree with that.

I'm not interested enough in this type of ridiculous smear campaign to do any research, but it does seem highly that the American Nurses' Association would have endorsed her for President, which they have done, if she had actually said anything of the sort ...
I've done many google searches to find these statements where Hillary supposedly puts down nurses. I've never found a thing. I think it's just a "Swiftboat" tactic.

Excuse me ! Rediculous smear campaign. Wow, someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I think you need to be a little less judgemental. Just to let you know I like Hillary, but if she said this I as an American who happens to be a nurse, want to be informed. If she did say this , I may or may not change my mind about her. But none the less I've got some ideas through this site about research on the subject. I will never lay my trust in any organization. I do my own search. If you trust any organization to tell you the way to vote or think ,than look back in history. It's not such a smart idea.
I can only think that people who post unverified, political, negative, fear-based quotes are themselves fearful politically, and certainly trying to ruin a candidates reputation based on misinformation.
Exactly! Most people believe "where there's smoke, there's fire." So, they will think there must be something to it even though the remark was never made or was taken out of context. The doubt and the negative image will linger even after the truth is learned.
That's how smear campaigns operate. They capitalize on the biases and stupidity of the average person who doesn't rise above the level of the smear.

I very well know that, but the cost cutters only see numbers in a column and will try to cut expenses at whatever cost. They view nurses as expendible pegs on a board, no different than autoworkers or garment workers, and they will outsource if neccessary.
