Did any boby fail at 265 NCLEX RN and fail the second attemp

Hello,

First of all, thanks to all those who are listening to me. Here's my story. I took the 1st NCLEX RN and failed at 265 question. The result came home and 1 category above passing, the rest near passing standard. How did i study for it? I read the ATI and do Saunder's questions. I feel that I didn't know my material. To prepare for the second exam, I read the whole Saunder's book and of course do all their question. I did about 700 Kaplan's qbank questions some Mosby's. Second test i got around 100-110 questions.

My questions to you is has anybody heard of someone failed on their first attempt at 265 and next fail at 110? I feel really dump. How can I do worst, I suppose to improve.

Also, I took test on the 15th at 8 am, the results should be posted on 17th online right? I feel that after two days, the chance is significantly lower.

Quick response would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

B.

:nurse:For you all that dont have confidence in yourself let me tell you my story. I started nursing school 4 years ago I worked full-time and went to school part time for 2 years and Full time for 2 years. I have 2 daughters at the time i started school they were 11 and 7. & we were on our own. I struggled through nursing school almost every semester it came down to my finals. I am a horrible test taker I have very bad test anxiety issues. I took my boards in July I had 76 ? and failed I was devistated I think I was the only one in my class that failed. I can tell you I work with a wonderful group of people they have been with my from day one through the tears LOTS OF THEM!! They always told me "I never could do what you are doing" to me it was a way of life. I took my boards for the second time yesterday I had 263 questions. I was good till about 150 then I started to panic-and kept thinking why wont this shut off! at about 200 I began to give up reading the questions but hurrying through them. It took me the whole 6 hours. I left the testing center and sobbed. I called my husband and he reassured me that you don't know for sure~I cried off and on all night. Today I went to work it was a busy day~I work at a ambulatory surgery center. I was pulled in the office by the Business manager which is an RN and the director of Nursing~not knowing why I thought what did I do! my nursing manager said to me look at the computer you are a nurse. I was so excited all my hard work paid off. To review I used Exam Cram RN and RN-3500 (it is free questions online) i did questions every day for about 2 months. So to all that you that struggle and are not confident in yourself. IF I did it YOU CAN~trust me I am the Queen of Drama and everything in my life never goes as planned but today It all fell into place. GOOD LUCK DONT GIVE UP!!!!!

I forgot to tell you I also took Kaplan review before my first attempt at NCLEX it wasnt helpful to me!

I recently took the NCLEX for the first time and failed the exam at 263 questions. I have not gotten my results in the mail yet, so I don't know how many sections I passed or failed. I feel for you as I know I will have just as much anxiety, if not more, the second time around! Good luck and try to stay positive!

Sorry to hear you failed. Best thing to do is start studying again as if you haven't sat the exam

What a great story..I wish u the best in your nursing career..

Failed first attempt at 265. Studying now for 2nd attempt. I'm using all those books mentioned, but continuing to remain positive is my bestest friend right now. No matter what happens when I take that test, I will not loose hope.

This is my passion and will not let go til I get that RN under my name.

Keep it up! Keep studying!

good luck to everyone. it is very encouraging to hear these stories. i myself will be attempting the nclex-pn again. waiting for att form. am going to go with suzanne's plan. i don't think i want to spend $500.00 for the network review course in nyc. is it worth it? could i just study the saunders pn book and be very confident that i have enough tools to pass this test?

I failed the first time with 265. I then passed with 75 questions. Hang in there and try to distract yourself until you get your test results. Good luck.

All of these posts are really scaring me. I took the NCLEX RN and failed my first attempt also. I am now studying saunders book so that I can do suzanne's plan. I really, REALLY do not want to fail again. I dont think I could take it.

I took the NCLEX-RN 4 times. The first three times I went through all 265 questions and failed all three times. I just sat for my fourth time yesterday and it shut off at 235. Not sure what that means, guess I'll find out in a couple of days if I finally passed or not :crying2:

Hey there B,

I failed the first time on 265! I did not study as hard as i should have...i knew I was failing...Plus it was a hard test! drugs i didnt know>this time I studied and shut off at 75 exactly! This was a lil easier alot of teaching some delegation and math but ez stuff>>>i would be so upset if i missed it again cuz i thought the test was not bad at all! I would say try the pearson trick, then pray cuz thats what im doin..all my friends finished and im the last one to test>>>WE GRADUATED LAST YEAR!!!!! OMG...am i dumm or what! SO hang in there>>>Its bad when you shut off at the exact beginning or the end cuz you are trully in limbo>>>> at least you are not over the 150's or 200's>>>>think positive!

I, too, failed my 1st attempt with 265qs all near passing..today I retook the exam and shut off @ 75qs..I had 1 math, 2-3 SATA, 1 drag and drop, a couple infection control, and the rest were priority qs (who would u see 1st or what would u do 1st)..now I'm just sitting and waiting...does anyone know if Alabama participates in QuickResults
