Just wondering if anyone else applied to this program. I went to UCLA for undergrad but I pretty much think I have no shot of getting into this grad program.
Does anyone know anything about how many people they admit? What they are looking for?
So they are still making decisions? I thought they would be sending the letters out today. Wow, this is gonna be one heck of a stressful week (along with my ochem exam :)
Judging from last year's thread, it seemed that if you didn't get your letter by Wed. or Thursday, you were probably not in (if you live local that is).
Crossing fingers very tightly and I hope this works out for everyone! I know we have all worked very hard and are deserving. Just have to wait for the verdict. Oh, and patience is a virtue... I guess :)
Well that's what Shelli said in her email to me, she said decisions would be made on monday and that she would then send notifications by mail.
I wonder if they've ever accepted an international student into the MECN program before?
I just hope it doesn't take 2 weeks just for the mail to reach me
Sarah,
'Given your unique circumstances, I think it would be reasonable to call Shelli up early next week if the rest of us receive our notifications this week. Regardless of whether you get in, you need this information to plan for the next several years. I think Shelli will understand and not want to handicap you in this process if you politely make your case.
Thank you Kitty, I shall do that if like you said, I haven't heard by then.
It would probably make more sense for them to email my decision to me first, rather than make me wait for very unreliable airmail.
To be honest, I'm not optimistic of my chances after reading about how competitive the pool of applicants are. But then again, as someone else stated, I guess everyone has something different to offer, so better keep my fingers crossed!

Did UCLA ever hear about invention called e-mail? Use it.
I don't know why they are still using snail mail. This wait is killing me
469 applicants? Wow. I am getting rather pessimistic
