  1. Actually I am an NP student with recent RN license and BSN degree but no experience as a nurse. I've been looking for part-time nursing job, of which there aren't many for new grad, and I got an offer for part-time lvn job for hospice care. I will be providing total care for one patient at home. I'll get about 3 weeks of training, but would that be enough for a new grad? Otherwise, I think this would be a good opportunity to have hands on experience. Thank you so much, I am both excited and scared.
  2. I am now believer in pvt. Despite good pop up, I was very anxious because I didn't feel confident from very first questions and got some easy questions toward the end, including one involving simple arithmatic (not even med calculation) that doesn't even require calculator. I learned today that I passed. CA BRN was quite quick, too. Took exam on 15th & found my name on 18th.
  3. I think that means the result is not delivered yet. I got the same message first, but later it changed to good popup, which tells you to contact your BON.
  4. Has there ever been a case good popup changed to credit card page later? I read all these posts that people are checking popup many times hoping that it continues to show popup. Or is this a case of not being able to really believe, like me, feeling so bad about exam? BTW, I can't imagine living in pre-pvt era considering how anxious I am even after getting good pop up.
  5. I took nclex-rn today in CA. 75 questions. When I tried pvt first, like half an hour later, I got "The candidate currently has open registration for this exam. A new registration cannot be created at this time." I tried again, fews seconds later, and it said : "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your Member Board for further Assistance. Another registration cannot be made at this time." Is pvt really, really fool-proof? I'm still anxious. I was stumped from very first questions, which are supposed to be easy, and later questions didn't look too hard. They looked like questions that I should be able to answer, except I couldn't. I remember there were even easy questions in the later part, which is not good sign. Wondering if there is any case where some people got good pop up but still failed.
  6. Wow. LACC says on its website that only session 3 is cancelled. Still. I guess it varies with schools.
  7. I turned in the application in late October and had an interview in early December. I was notified that I was waitlisted three weeks ago and then was admitted two weeks ago. I hope that helps, but I don't think there is any pattern to this.
  8. Hi, I was an alternate, but was admitted a week later. But another spot should open up as I informed them today that I decided not to go there. It was a hard decision since it's only 2 years as opposed to 3 years elsewhere. Good luck to you all!
  9. This is quite a blow. I was counting on $20500 stafford loan. Actually, I may have to choose another school. I may run out of money.
  10. I too called financial aid that that lady did not seem to know for sure. But she said that admission status is as a graduate student. And I think we pay graduate fee. I'm confused.
  11. OK, CSUN was also applied as grad, but I'm hoping that CSULB is considered grad because terminal degree of the program is MS.
  12. but aren't we considered graduate students? I think we applied to CSULB as a graduate student. Well, I certainly hope so since I was counting on it.
  13. I checked with Monalisa Ward to make sure that she submitted papers/enter system and then talked with Admissions officer, who then updated it. Otherwise it seemed it could take quite a while.
  14. I too had to call admissions to make sure that it entered the system. When I first called them a week ago, they said that my application was still being evaluated by admissions.
  15. I checked mine, and there was no financial aid offered yet. Maybe it's because I still have a prerequisite in progress. When I called FA office, they said that offer won't be made until all final grades are in, which is weird. BTW, I don't want to scare anybody, but did you check out course plan of the program? It's scary. Usually I'm very confident about academic side, but 8 classes (20 units) in Spring sememster?! 3 of them clinicals. And 15 units in summer!!! I compared it with other programs, and it seems CSULB is toughest by far, no contest (at least in terms of # of units). I like the program because it gives you RN, PH certificate, BSN, MSN, plus CNL (plus Education minor) or NP, but I guess there is a price for that. I got offer from CSUDH, which gives MSN in 2 years, and it looks easy by comparison. Right now, I'd love to get some assurance from current El-MSN student.
