  1. I am looking for Kaiser NG in San Diego too.
  2. Anyone hear about Summer RN admittance?
  3. I think you are overlooking the fact that you paid $2000 for an Associate degree and the National Program is a BSN program. I don't know when you got your RN but there is a 2 year waiting list for the program at SDCCD plus another 2 years in the program. If you want to go into the military or work for the VA they will not hire you without a Bachelors. The cost of the ABSN program (40-50k) is lower than the entry level pay grade for a bachelor prepared nurse (60k). I for one, plan to apply because I have a kid and it is costing me more to wait on a state school than borrowing the money. If I wait to get into a cheaper school for 2 years I have lost 120k :twocents: . I am open to other options and state schools but SDSU wont even talk to you if you already have a bachelors degree and they favor their own students over transfer students so if you take your prereq's at a Jr college and try to apply, the students that took their prereq's at that college have priority even if you are more qualified (I found that out the REALLY HARD way!). I am not dependent on my parents so I will need the loans and I don't think I can get loans to pursue an associate degree since I already hold a bachelors. It shouldn't be a problem to pay the money back. Most hospitals will arrange to forgive 10k of loans for each year you commit to them and the military will forgive even more and you go in as an officer. National University has more accreditation than any other I have researched and they have a 100% NCLEX pass rate. It is not like Kaplan that only has CA BRN accreditation and no one will accept the classes if you want to transfer.
  4. Thanks msnapplicant. It seemed like I waited forever but I have not waited as long as you did. It just seem's strange that they picked alternates and admitted alternates before reviewing an application that was completed in February and interviewed in March. Maybe the process is different than I assumed would be the logical progression.
  5. msnapplicant, When did you turn in your application/interview with CSUDH and receiving your letters? Just trying to get an idea of the time line. Good luck with the program you decided on!
  6. Ba2LaCa, I am waiting for the letter still and will post as soon as I get it. I am sorry about the assumption that you were placed on the waiting list. I reviewed the past post and another poster mentioned waiting list but you said "short list". I hope to hear something by the end of the week or early next week. Fingers crossed!
  7. Ba2LaCa you are so right! I called the director I interviewed with and got a reply via email from Jorge Escamilla saying they will review my application this week. It is very strange to me that another person was accepted as an alternate already and my application wasn't even considered! Seems like I do not really have a chance at this point. All that work for nothing. I am really at a loss and very sad.
  8. I am still waiting. Jorge Escamillas VM is full. I have emailed. I would hate to have spent all the time and money on the application process and not even been considered! I was thinking that the transcript evaluation would be useful in applying next year or to alternate programs but I never even got that!
  9. The waiting is KILLING ME!:imbar:imbar I haven't heard anything! I want to be sure I haven't slipped through the cracks. Is there anyone else that has not heard anything from CSUDH?
  10. I am sorry you did not get an acceptance letter. It is a VERY real possibility that you will get a spot. Medical students who get on the alternate list celebrate because they know that someone will drop out. I am anxious just to hear anything at this point. I wish you the best and hope you feel better. Someone else on this thread got several rejection letters before getting an acceptance so it's not over yet. Chin up!
  11. Thanks for the info on the classes. I will try to register for the patho at Santa Barbara. Hopefull I will see you on CSUDH campus in the Fall!
  12. Shoot July may be too late for me to take the pathophysiology online! I may start looking for other places to take it. Thanks for the info, hopefully I will see you in the Fall.
  13. Wow! November to February? That is a long wait! And the denials!!! OMG! I left a message for Jorge today but it was late day. The last time I touched bases with him he said he had not received my application from graduate admissions. I wanted to follow up to be sure he has it now. It went to him late March so.... Thanks for the info and Ba2LaCa thanks for waiting with me! :icon_roll
  14. Anyone applying to Dominguez Hills? I am interested in talking with you.
  15. MSNAPPLICANT I know the tread is a little old but I am applying for CSUDH CNL program and have an interview next week. I understand they want you to write during the interview process. I am really nervous about that aspect of the interview. Any advice you can give?
