I've seen threads discussing this topic so I'm hoping to combine all of the discussions and include everyone.
Who else is applying to June GN/RN internships is the Dallas and Fort Worth area? Where have you applied and what feedback have you received? Does anyone who applied to previously posted internships and got accepted or rejected have any advice for us?
Personally I'm a BSN Dec 2010 grad with a new TX RN license and I've applied to any openings I could find in the ED and women & infant services as well as a few random telemetry and critical care spots. I have had 1 phone interview and I have a phone interview and in-person interview scheduled for next week. Im keeping my fingers crossed that something will go well!!!
Good luck to all of us new grads in this tough job market!! :redpinkhe
Good catch Princess_WannaBe! I never noticed that it said updated. I don't know what it means specificially, maybe something about when HR accesses your profile? My update date is the same day that I had the phone interview so thats my guess. Anytime they are looking at your information and you haven't received a rejection letter is good news in my eyes!
twnurse_2010. Where all have you interviewed and what are your preferred specialties? Did you graduate in Dec too? I applied to several postings back in Oct-Dec but I didn't live in TX yet so recruiters didn't take me very seriously.
can you get intership in dfw hospitals if you live out of state?
There is nothing that says that someone who lives out of state can't apply but you will have more difficulty because there are hundreds of new grads here applying to all of the same positions. Before graduating I applied from out of state but none of the recruiters were very interested in me, I heard "call me when you live here" a lot. If you know people here who could help get your name in or have a TX address when you apply that would really help.

I remember that name. I met her at a fair and she made sure to put NICU on top of my resume and she promised she would remember my name (we'll see if she does)
