DFW GN/RN June 2011 Internships

I've seen threads discussing this topic so I'm hoping to combine all of the discussions and include everyone.

Who else is applying to June GN/RN internships is the Dallas and Fort Worth area? Where have you applied and what feedback have you received? Does anyone who applied to previously posted internships and got accepted or rejected have any advice for us?

Personally I'm a BSN Dec 2010 grad with a new TX RN license and I've applied to any openings I could find in the ED and women & infant services as well as a few random telemetry and critical care spots. I have had 1 phone interview and I have a phone interview and in-person interview scheduled for next week. Im keeping my fingers crossed that something will go well!!!

I got an email today saying the THR Dallas NICU position has been filled. All of my other THR OB related applications say they are still being reviewed. I'm sorry to hear about the Baylor rejection emails! Princess_WannaBe - I'm glad that you are still in the running for your favorite position!

I'm sorry but I'm confused about what you are asking. Are you wanting information on Houston internships or are you saying that you are interested in both DFW and Houston? This is a thread for just the DFW programs and we have already posted most of what we know regarding our applications and interviews. Do you have questions about a specific program here?

I got my rejection for med-surg from Baylor too......

Thanks Meggo that gives me some hope!!! I'm very sorry they didn't select you but you still have l&d :) It really sucks a lot of hospitals now are trying to Magnet status so they wont hire many adns so it just makes it even more harder for them to get a job. A hospital here in Houston just gave all their lvns the boot. I hope all of us get jobs soon :)

Meggo- I still havent heard anything from THR, you got an email about NICU...I still havent received any only fron Baylor med/surg. To answering your questions I grad in Dec and I interviewed at Parkland for NICU and L&D last year. They had 300 apps for 5 positions. I have applied at every hospital in the DFW im just waiting to hear from atleast one.

I haven't heard anything. I'm going to choose to believe that means I will be contacted in April when they start doing more in-person interviews. lol :heartbeat

No word from THR, but Baylor has sent me two more rejections. I am still waiting for Children's to post their internships.

I haven't hear anything either so I didn't know if it was a good thing or not. Only rejection I got from THR was L&D and Baylor med-surg. So I'm hoping this is a good thing
