I've seen threads discussing this topic so I'm hoping to combine all of the discussions and include everyone.
Who else is applying to June GN/RN internships is the Dallas and Fort Worth area? Where have you applied and what feedback have you received? Does anyone who applied to previously posted internships and got accepted or rejected have any advice for us?
Personally I'm a BSN Dec 2010 grad with a new TX RN license and I've applied to any openings I could find in the ED and women & infant services as well as a few random telemetry and critical care spots. I have had 1 phone interview and I have a phone interview and in-person interview scheduled for next week. Im keeping my fingers crossed that something will go well!!!
Good luck to all of us new grads in this tough job market!! :redpinkhe
Txmommyof3 - good luck, I hope you hear something about a face to face interview soon!
Redraider1977 - Did you try calling the Parkland HR office to ask? From what I've heard they are already conducting some interviews and haven't even started others.
NewToDallas - I spoke to the recruiter last week and she said we would be hearing about interviews in the beginning of April... I’m assuming next week some time hopefully *fingers crossed*
Hi all,
I've been following this post for a while, although I haven't posted on it. I graduated in December with my ADN, i've already taken and passed the NCLEX.
I applied to pretty much everything that I could find online, and I haven't gotten a single call from anywhere. I've gotten a bunch of reject emails, but that's pretty much it. I'm honestly getting kind of discouraged. I feel like I went through school for nothing.
Just wanted to say good luck to everyone, I sincerely hope you all get jobs. If I don't get a position this time, I'm not sure what my options are, as most hospitals only do internships with ppl that have graduated within 6 months. I've tried rehab, dialysis, LTAC, and urgent care facilities, and so far nothing.
Once again, good luck to you all.
Got the rejection email from Baylor's L&D internship today. Not what I was hoping for, but trusting that God has something else up his sleeve...
PS. I talked to Ms. *** *****, the woman's health recruiter for Baylor, on Friday and she said there were over 1,600 applicants for all the internships. So for everyone who felt pretty qualified but didn't get it (like myself) - don't be too hard on yourself, the statistics are hard to beat.
Has anyone had any good news? Any job offers or exciting interviews?
I also received the Baylor newborn nursery rejection but I don't think I've gotten ones for L&D or NICU. I was rejected from one position that I interviewed for but still haven't heard any results on any of the others:uhoh3:

Had my phone interview for Newborn Nursery and Post Partum this afternoon. Should hear from the manager in womens services at JPS tomorrow or Thursday to set up my face-to-face with them. Hopefully something will come of these interviews.
