I asked my patient "Aren't you just so cute?"
He gurgled and smiled.

Put patient on bedpan, took patient off bedpan. I said, "good news! You moved your bowels!" Patient said, "How many inches??!?" I said... (beat beat) "six inches!"

The use of the word "client" tips me off that this is a homework assignment. I have never heard a working nurse use that term.

I will soon be a working nurse and I will use the word client, and will never use the word patient....but thats me.....
Also it seems that I am not the only one that giggles whenever I hear the phrase "therapeutic communication" lol
WOW, are all these people that answered are NURSES???? I cant believe you guys don't have or can't think of any therapeutic relationship you've had with your patients.
Well, I'm a newly grad nurse and read alot of articles about nursing. So, I am used to saying the "client". It is disappointing to read that there is no stories to share. WOW
