Can anyone help me here, I'm planning to take the LVN exam because I just got denied by CABON because of the concurrency issue..I just want to know:

Method #3 - Equivalent Education and/or Experience(the PHARMACOLOGY course)Do I need to submit it also? and how? or I just need to submit only the

Method #2 - Graduates of an Out-of-State School of Practical/Vocational Nursing.

BTW, I'm an international graduate, Registered Nurse from the Philippines but I can't sit for the NCLEX-RN exam that is why I decided to take this one. Hope someone can answer my question thank you.

Hi @ kayakoto!:) I heave the same issue as yours that I need to meet the requirements to Nclex -RN I need to take med-surg and ob. As of the moment while looking for schools who will gonna accept me.. Did you take Nclex-pn here in California? And what are the steps? Thank you in advance.😁

Hey! I'm also from the Philippines currently staying here in SoCal. I have a license in NY but want to transfer here in CA. I heard about the 6 month deficiency courses for RN so I want to challenge the NCLEX LVN first while waiting for a school who can accept me. Email me so we can exchange infos.

Until you submit the non-refundable CA BRN application, there's no use in looking for any schools until you receive from the CA BRN evaluation on what your possible deficiencies are.

The CA schools are so impacted with just the tens of thousands of international applicants trying to get a single spot to take the deficient courses and with waiting list that goes from 1-4 years long, that's why the school only wants to see what courses you need to take.

Is it just the one or two courses or is it 4 or more, in which case, they simply tell you it's best to re-take the entire nursing program again. That is because if it's more than the 2 courses needed, the chances of the application getting completed before the 3 year limitation (from the initial application date) will expire and then the application goes into the abandonment pile.

Without that letter notice from the CA BRN, they will just tell you to come after you had your transcripts reviewed and evaluated. They will not even place you on any waiting list as it's an administrative work that don't want to be involved in.

Remember, while you will apply under the endorsement process, you will still need to meet all the current CA BRN requirements.

So make sure your school still has copies of your all cases and courses, otherwise, it's a waste of time and money. This section has many applicants stuck in the CA BRN due to lack of providing the minimum set of documentation and then when they are provided it's found at that point the very possibility of not meeting the concurrency rules and thus the declination of getting the endorsement.

If you know already, that your transcripts will probably not meet the concurrency rules, it's a gamble to try just know again, the application fees are not refundable and the review process takes months even under the endorsement process, it's basically starting from the beginning as a first-time CA applicant.

However, the same holds true for even US educated students and nurses coming in from another state, with their out of state license and schooling records.

HI! good day! im currently struggling to get information if an RN in the Philippines can take LVN here in California? i was trying to apply in their online application when i get to this part that you need to fill what school did you take the accredited vocational nursing program, but cannot find my BSN school in Philippines. can anyone give me more direction about this matter? thanks so much!

Yeah u can take the lvn in Cali

is being a LVN better than taking or being a PCT?

but i cant proceed with my online application because i dont know what to put on part that they are needing my school with the accredited program. what should i do?

hello everyone! i filed for lvn. got a reply that my school did not include my clinical hours for maternity nursing. so, they sent me the form again to be filled out by the school. sent the form to my school, and my school mailed it back to boards a couple of days ago... anyone has the same issue?

another concern. the orange form - declaration of nursing education and/or license. question #5. it's asking for very specific details: the director of nursing, their telephone/fax, date started/completed and number of HOURS WORKED? how did you guys answer these queries?

i mean, of course, i know the name of the hospitals i had clinical and their addresses, but other than that like the DON's/instructors fr diff hospitals and their contact infos, that i don't have. most of my clinical instructors are not even working at my school anymore, and some are not fr my school. you know, in the philippines you easily change numbers... then for date started/completed can i input year started/completed the course instead?

PCT = Patient Care Technician? LVN is way better. LVN is licensed, PCT is not. PCT is very much like CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant).

JP, I am also a PH grad and currently working on my LVN-CA application. IS it necessary to send the Original copy of the Clinical/ Rotation Forms?

- Did your school mailed the requirements directly to BVNPT? Or you mailed it yourself together with the LVN application form?

Another question. Number 7 on the LVN application form. I graduated High school in PH. Grade 1-6 Elementary and 1st- 4th year in High school. What did you put on question number 7?

Best,

DT

- no mention of submitting papers regarding clinical rotations, so i didn't. that's a lot of papers. you're going to give them unnecessary work load. tho i did send them summary of my clinical duties -- over-all hours, hospitals/clinics and their info. also asked my school to send details abt our clinical affiliations...

- you will have to mail app form by yourself, of course. they will reply back as to what's needed and what to do next... requirements/papers coming fr school MUST be mailed directly fr school to board, sealed with school seal, envelope...

- put your schools info.
