Death of a great professor!

Published

I found out last night during clinical that one of my schools A&P professors collapsed during class from a heart attack...he died on the way to the hospital. I had him for A&P2 lab and lecture. It was a year and a half ago but I'm so sad about this. I had a hard time falling asleep last night because I kept thinking of when I was in his class and how helpful he was, he was a really great professor. I even e-mailed him after that semester was over and told him how much I appreciated all his help and how much I learned. I hope he knew how much of a great asset he was to the biology department. Anyway, I don't know why I'm sharing this here, I just had to share because we all have professors we like and I knew some of you would understand. :crying2:

Aw, sorry! :( I hope you'll be able to attend a memorial service or send a note to his family...I'm sure they would really value what you just said! (((hugs)))

So sorry. It's hard to have someone who is even a peripheral part of your life die, especially like that. If you can go to the memorial, I think it would be good for you and wonderful for his family. They need to know that he touched a real, tangible person's life, I imagine.

Blessings.

Thanks! Yes, I'll be keeping an eye out for the obituary. I've been checking on my schools website and surprisingly there's no sort of announcement about his death... :( I'm hoping the school has a memorial at least.

Hi Mesha...yes I go to MV! It stinks knowing someone that helped me so much! :( On a more positive note....how are you doing so far? I'm in nursing 3, if you need any help just let me know.

I'm sorry, it is very scary! My nursing instructor (who is the nursing teacher I can understand the best, shes very good!) had a bad heart attack this past Monday. She was in the ICU and we were all very scared! Luckly she recovered, got discharged, and will return to school in a couple weeks. But, I kinda understand....it sucks!

I'm glad she's ok!

So sorry for those of you who are experiencing the grief of the loss of your professor. It sounds like he had a very positive influence on your lives.

Wow...the hybrid must be new, I don't think they had that last year. Sounds like you're getting ahead of the game...that's awesome! Who's your instructors?
