and I am going to make mistakes, and run a little behind when I get an admission right at the end of the shift ( 0625). But that is because I actually did the admission and took care of faxing all the med orders to pharmacy for you so the meds will be here when you make your rounds. So please, just keep rolling your eyes at me like a broken kewpie doll while I give you report. I love all the huffing and puffing and tongue clicking . I am new now, but I won't be forever. You treat me like dirt on the bottom of your shoe right now, and thats fine. I can take it. So for now I'll eat your crap. But one of these days......that overwhelming urge to smack you in the forhead to fix that eye problem of yours....it might happen.

Ok I feel better. But seriously. If this weaatch doesnt stop rolling her eyes at me and giving me disgusted looks while constantly interuptting my report, its a gonna get ugly!

I just want eveyone to know that I personally would not have had the guts to do what I recommended in my first post to this thread. But, after a year or so, crap started tasting worse and worse.

I had this nurse on day shift, that would test me every AM (oh yeah, she had a rep, and my supe just told me to ignore her).

Oh, but I did try soooooo hard for soooooooo long.

One morning she came on shift, and I was just visiting the floor before I left to see my buds, and what they were planning for the weekend,. . . . when I seen her coming I got a wonderful idea, . . .

I started telling of how I wasn't able to get a Bowel Prep started until 4am this morning, and that I didn't have time to change his sheets or anything, . . . And how sorry I was because I had to give the other two MOM, and another LOC, and now one of them had just hit the JACKPOT, and missed the BSC, but of course I had to go give report.

(of course all this was made-up, I didn't even work their floor- had gotten pulled to ER, and this Nurse was flaming (She usually got my patients- and as hard as I tried- everything done, rooms tidy, some baths given, treatments done, ---she was never happy, and could find something to ''call" yes CALL me at home about!!!!! Very little stuff!!! )

She started talking to others where I could hear her, and I could hear them agreeing (I was trying to keep a straight face), and then it happened, she picked up the phone, . . .her face was Scarlett with a hint of crimson!

Dialing the supe: We have a nurse that has left 2 patients "covered" in feces, not started a Bowel Prep-the patient probably hasn't even been NPO! (i didn't even say that!), ". . .and he is on his way out now, I want this written-up!"

(we recorded report anyway, so since she was there now, the desk clerk, and charge nurse waited for report to be over at the desk, covering lights so all the other staff wouldn't go into overtime.)

I turned quick to rush out so she could see me do it, I heard her say, "Hey you need to wait, "We" need to have a word!" I acted like I didn't hear her, I heard her telling the Supe, "He's Walking Off, You want me to stop him?"" I knew the supe well, People on other floors pulling nurses asked for me by name. She knew I was a Safe, Caring, and Hardworking Nurse- but just as freaked of this nurse as me.

I would have given anything to have heard the supe tell her, "He didn't even work on this unit last night!" They said the Supe was enraged at her. That she walked off with the nurse still complaining, and had asked her why she reported all this "stuff" that she had only "overheard," the Supe thought she had "witnessed" these things, and to further anger her, patient assignments hadn't even been made, This nurse took it all on herself to make me look bad, and try to "get me!"

It did not get worse, she never bothered me again, and honestly, I don't think I ever heard her complain of another nurse again. Christmas Morning, 3 mos later, I was so shocked, walking out the door, she said "Merry Christmas." I was astonished! We spoke off and on at least "cordially" after that.

See you acted like a human being. In my old neighborhood we would she come off her shift and she would find her car keyed if she was lucky If she wasn't she wouldn't be able to find her car.

Great kinda Nurse to have around when a patient needs a "Reality Check."

By The Way, Gitano- Is that you in that Avatar Pic? Tease!

Great post from a new grad! I like your attitude, yes she may be a pain, but every place has one and it will get old on her part or you won't pay attention as time goes by. Keep on learning and do your best, as time goes on, you may find your self rolling your eyes at her, lol.:smokin:

And it coyld be that she is rollung her eyes and interrupting you during your great report is that in reality you may be giving a crapoy report. there are always 2 sides of the story.
