Anybody thinking about El Centro/ Northlake in the DCCCD for Jan 2006?

I was going to take the semester off, but something possessed me to take general chemistry (1411) & music appreication (1306).

At least the chem is over Oct 21st & the music doesn't start until Oct 21st. So, the latter half of the semester won't be as demanding.

Really? I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one in this situation. I agree, it will make us appreciate getting in even more.

Hope everyone's classes is going well so far!! I've decided to take the semester off.

Hey , I just wanted to let you guys know that Linda from El Centro says that you can fulfill your humanities requirement with Span 1311. So for any of you prenursing students wanting to go to either El Centro (humanites) or Brookhaven (Span 1311) you can satisfy both with one class.

That doesn't help me either. :( I made a B in all three of my spanish classes, just as I did in my American Literature.

Now, if they will use History 1301, then I'd have all A's on my support classes! lol

Ok, today was the last day to turn in your application for the Spring '06 entry.

Good luck to everyone!

Nursing Education Loan Program

The DFWHC Nursing Education Loan Program assists with the recruitment of nurses by providing a maximum of $12,000 to nursing students for their education. Funds are provided by sponsoring hospitals in North Texas and distributed by DFWHC.

Upon graduation and state licensure, the student repays the loan by working at the sponsoring hospital as a registered nurse for 30 months at regular pay. Each month of employment reduces the amount of the loan. If the student works the specified time, the loan is considered paid.

I have sent an e-mail to the lady on the site. If you find out before me let me know. If I find out I will let you know.

OK, news flash!! lol

I spoke with my friend that was in the RN program at NLC. She said her acceptance letter came in a small envelope. (Of course this may change!)

So......whatever the size, don't think you did or didn't make it. Just open the envelope, and pray it is good news. (If not, no one give up!)

The 15th is on a Saturday. I wonder if they will send out the letters on the 14th or 17th, if not before, or if they will still mail them on the 15th??

If the 14th, then it's only 44 days away!!!!! :)

I'm so scared and excited at the same time! My friend was saying nursing school is full of critical thinking. I hope I can do it. I know in my heart that I can make a great nurse. I love all people, and I really want to make this goal to help them.

I want to be able to think about my grandparents and say to myself, "I made a nurse." lol

ok....back to reality. I spent the evening at my daughter's high school freshman football game. I love football!

Now I have to go study chem. Hope you all have a great day/evening. (Depending on when you read this...lol)

Ugggggh, I'm so nervous about it. I am nervous about the clinicals (course I hope I get i first! :chuckle ).

I'm going to see if I can find a countdown timer thingy so we can all know how many days we have left :chuckle

Hmm..can't have a siggy I guess. Only for premium members? Oh well.

Yeah, it's only for premium members. I'm not sure if we could put one there anyway. Most of them are java, or CGI, which must be allowed.

I was thinking about putting one on my website, but I haven't had the time yet.

I have to manage cleaning up & studying today and tomorrow, then my youngest' birthday party is on Sunday afternoon.

Hopefully, Monday and Tuesday I can study more for my first chem exam that is on Wednesday.

It may take a while to hear from her. She took over a week to get the application to me. There are well over 100 folks ahead of me in line for this and she said that the program is just about out of money. They hope to recharge the coffers soon.
